Kelly Osbourne said she wants to give her son Sidney a 'different childhood to mine' as she swapped life on the road with Slipknot star ex for an English farm and PTA meetings at village school.

The daughter of late Ozzy Osbourne and Sharon, 41, shares the four-year-old with her ex fiancé Sid Wilson.

The former couple quietly ended their engagement in March just seven months after the Slipknot DJ, 49, proposed to Kelly at her late father's final concert with Black Sabbath in Birmingham.

Following their split, Kelly decided to return to the English countryside with Sidney after spending nearly 30 years living in Los Angeles.

She made the jump across the pond because she doesn't want her young son to have the same childhood she did and she wanted to be closer to Ozzy's grave.

Speaking about her decision to leave Tinseltown, where her brother, Jack, still lives with his family, she told The Sun: 'At first, when he was younger and we were on the road a lot [with Sidney's dad's band Slipknot], I was like: 'This is great. He gets to grow up just like me.'

'And then I thought: 'No, this actually isn't healthy for him and this is exposing him to too much. I've got to get him home.'

'We always said that if we ever have a child, he's going to be raised in England.'

Kelly also revealed her concerns over the terrifying gun culture in the US, which has sadly led to a number of school shootings in the country.

Sidney is now going to the same school Kelly went to in the UK before the Osbournes moved to LA.

And Kelly has gotten involved with being an 'English village mum', revealing that she goes to all the school's PTA meetings and events.

During an appearance on Paul C Brunson's podcast, We Need To Talk, last month, Kelly revealed she relapsed into drinking following the death of her father as her grief sent her spiralling back into addiction.

Kelly, who says she is now sober again, said his death triggered a period in which she became unable to look after herself properly.

'I was a shell of myself. I couldn't speak. I couldn't eat. I couldn't do anything. I was just empty,' Kelly said.

'Broken in every way a human being could possibly be broken and completely unable to even take care of myself. I was at ground zero. I started drinking again. I lost my mind. I couldn't handle it.'

Kelly, who has battled drug and alcohol addiction since her teenage years, added that she has since managed to regain her sobriety.

'I can honestly say today I'm eight months sober,' she said. 'I have the most incredible people around me. I closed my circle because I lost a lot of friends because people don't like sadness and they expected me to be over it.

'I will never be over it. I will never ever be over it.'

Kelly has previously been open about repeated periods of addiction and recovery, including revealing in 2021 that she had relapsed after almost four years sober.

At the time, she explained how a single glass of champagne had quickly escalated into heavier drinking before she got herself 'back on track'.

She has now said that drinking and drugs were never about wanting to party but about trying to escape difficult feelings.

'I never did drugs because I wanted a party,' she said. 'I never drank because I wanted a party. I just didn't want to feel the pain.'

Kelly is now attempting to carve out a different life for herself after returning to the UK, where she spent most of her childhood before moving with her family to Los Angeles when she was 13.
