EXCLUSIVE: Emmy Award-nominee Kelly Jenrette (All American: Homecoming, The Handmaid’s Tale) has joined the recurring cast of the limited series All The Sinners Bleed, Netflix’s series adaptation of S.A. Cosby’s novel from the Obamas’ Higher Ground and Amblin Television. The series is currently in production in Atlanta, Georgia.
From showrunner and executive producer Joe Robert Cole, All The Sinners Bleed follows Titus Crown (Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù), the first Black sheriff in a small Bible Belt county. Haunted by his devout mother’s untimely death, he must lead the hunt for a serial killer who has been preying on his Black community for years in the name of God.
Jenrette will portray the character Helen Crown.
The previously announced lead cast also includes John Douglas Thompson, Nicole Beharie, Daniel Ezra, Andrea Cortés, Murray Bartlett, and Leila George; with Giancarlo Esposito, David Lyons, Donald Elise Watkins, Mackenzie Astin, Jordan M. Cox, Cullen Moss, Angus O’Brien, Cranston Johnson, Christopher Matthew Cook, Christopher Thornton, and Bill Oberst Jr. set in recurirng roles. We also recently announced Weapons star Amy Madigan will guest star as Scarlett Cunningham in the limited series.
Cole serves as writer, showrunner and executive producer, and he will direct the first and several other episodes. Cosby also executive produces.
Jenrette was most recently a series regular on the CW series All-American: Homecoming, playing the character of Amara Patterson across the show’s three seasons. The character originated on All-American, the mothership series of the franchise created by Nkechi Okoro Carroll. Although she only made one appearance on Hulu’s hit post-apocalyptic drama The Handmaid’s Tale as Annie, she received her first Emmy Award nomination under the category of Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series for her performance. She was also a series regular on the Fox comedy Grandfathered, led by John Stamos.
Her recent credits also include ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy, a reteaming with Carroll on her NBC series Found, NBC’s This Is Us, Discovery’s Manhunt, and Fox’s Pitch. Jenrette is repped by MKS & Associates, Robyn Bluestone Management, and attorney Matt Rosen.
