Taylor Swift's "Professional Athlete" Fitness Routine Secrets Revealed
Robin Arzon doesn’t want you to drop the ball on your 2025 resolutions.
While the beginning of a new year is the perfect time to set new goals, it can also be daunting. But the key to sticking to your New Year resolutions comes down to setting clear intentions, and more importantly identifying small areas for growth.
“Ask yourself, ‘What would four to five percent better be?’” Robin, Peloton’s VP of Fitness Programming, exclusively told E! News. “Maybe that's making one decision at one meal. That's one workout. That's taking the stairs that one time instead of taking the elevator. These are the little, tiny things that add up.”
And while preparation is key, it really is those small changes to your routine that create lasting habits.
“Say ‘OK, this is what I need—I need an alarm clock, I need my water the night before, I need to set up my clothes,’” she explained. “Make those small, micro decisions."
And don't be afraid to start small.
"Try to set yourself up for success in that your first week of that achievement is something that you can do in two minutes or less," she continued. "It's going to feel almost too easy, but I would rather it be only four to five percent out of your comfort zone, than feel like jumping off a cliff.”
In that same vein, getting in your daily 30 minutes of exercise doesn’t have to take a significant chunk out of the day. Rather, the Swagger Society founder suggests “exercise snacks”—breaking up your workout into more digestible chunks—to get in your daily movement.
“The steps matter,” she revealed. “Even if it's parking your car further away in a parking lot, getting out one stop earlier on the train, taking the stairs. But those minutes actually add up.”

This is something that the mom of two recently practiced during her #3for31 challenge, which encouraged her followers to get in at least 30 minutes of movement or three miles of cardio every day of December.
“Originally when I created #3for31 it was a running challenge,” Robin explained. “But I recognize that not everybody wants to run every day in December, so 30 minutes a day is the commitment that a lot of people sign up for.”
Because the holiday season is a busy time for everyone, even this seasoned athlete planned on exercise snacking during the most festive time of the year.
“I’m already planning,” she revealed. “I'm probably going to do burpees before [the family] wakes up to get a few minutes there. After they open gifts then maybe I'll do ten minutes of pilates. So it's figuring out the little pockets where you are claiming it.”
It also signals to your loved ones that you’re taking your fitness seriously.
“And also expressing to my family members and to your loved ones that this is important to me,” she added. “I'm going to be better for you if I take care of myself.”

Another incredible way to achieve those fitness goals in the New Year is through strength training.
“I truly believe that everyone should be lifting weights three times a week,” the 29-time marathon runner advised. “And for folks who have never done that before, absolutely start with body weight. You can use your body as resistance.”
By starting out with exercises like push-ups and air squats, you can build up to using those heavier weights in a safe and effective way.
“I personally believe that strength training is the fountain of youth,” she added. “I think, especially as women who are in their 30s, 40s, 50s and older, strength training becomes even more key for bone density, for bone health, for body composition. That's the key.”
That being said, at the core of lasting resolutions is mental fitness. Indeed, positive self-talk can often make or break those long-term goals.
According to Robin, “a way that we can befriend ourselves in between our ears” should be one of your top priorities while embarking on your fitness journey in the New Year, she noted. Instead of tearing yourself down during moments when you miss the mark on your goals, know “that it is possible to speak to yourself like you would a friend.”
