Adam Blevins began working in the entertainment industry in 2022 as a Staff Writer for Agents of Fandom, where he progressed to Senior Editor and interviewed talent from Marvel Studios, House of the Dragon, and Planet of the Apes. He joined Collider as a News Author in April 2024, was promoted to a Senior position in December 2024, and has written over 3,000 articles for the site, including exclusives relating to Avengers: Doomsday, The Penguin, Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, and more. He primarily writes about the latest box office numbers and the hottest movies and TV shows on streaming, while also covering superhero and sci-fi news. He has completed a set visit for The Chosen and even has several months of experience writing Gaming Features at ScreenRant. You can find him on X, LinkedIn, and Muckrack.

Keanu Reeves first rose to stardom with his early roles in classic action thrillers like Point Break (1991) and Speed (1994), but it wasn’t until the final year of the 1990s that he arrived as one of the biggest action stars in the world. Reeves headlined the first of three Matrix movies that were released back-to-back-to-back in 1999 and 2003, along with other stars like Carrie-Anne Moss (The Acolyte) and Laurence Fishburne (The Amateur). A fourth Matrix movie came to theaters in 2021, but it was an unsuccessful legacy sequel pegged more as a cash grab than an attempt to revive the franchise. Still, all these years later, The Matrix is widely hailed as one of the greatest sci-fi movies of all time.

As if headlining one transformative action franchise wasn’t enough to ask for, Reeves came back in 2014 to transform another genre. 12 years ago, Reeves played John Wick for the first time in one of the all-time great action movies. The film tells the story of a former operative who has become a myth in his time away from the game. John Wick retired to spend more time with his wife, but after she dies and her one gift to him is killed, he’s called back into the game for good. In America, John Wick is currently streaming on HBO Max, where it’s been one of the top 10 most popular movies for over a week now. John Wick grossed $86 million on a $20 million budget, and it earned scores of 86% from critics and 82% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes.

Are They Making Another ‘John Wick’ Movie?

Yes, Lionsgate confirmed last year at CinemaCon in Las Vegas that it was developing another John Wick movie. Both star Keanu Reeves and director Chad Stahelski are in line to return, but it’s far too early in development to predict when it could be released. Lionsgate is also hard at work on another John Wick spin-off film focusing on Donnie Yen’s Caine, who was first introduced in John Wick: Chapter 4. Collider broke the news to the world that Yen will also direct the film in addition to starring. It will be the second spin-off film after Ballerina, which introduced Ana de Armas as Eve and also brought back Reeves to star.

Be sure to watch John Wick on HBO Max in America and stay tuned to Collider for more streaming updates.
