President Donald Trump has selected his next White House press secretary: Katie Zacharia, a conservative commentator.
A White House official confirmed that she had been offered the job, but it was unclear whether she has accepted.
Zacharia has been the senior communications adviser to the Trump Media & Technology Group, the parent company of Trump’s social media venture, Truth Social. She also has worked as a spokesperson for the Department of Homeland Security under Kristi Noem.
She is a lawyer and has been a commentator at Newsmax and has appeared on Fox News and Fox Business, along with One America News Network. She also has been general counsel to Fix California, the advocacy group founded by Ric Grenell.
She would succeed Karoline Leavitt, who stepped down during the summer after giving birth.
