Kate Hudson—who was nominated for Best Actress at the 2026 Oscars—had a very special date for the Vanity Fair after-party, where she was joined by 22-year-old son Ryder Robinson.
Kate Hudson and Goldie Hawn Steal the Show With Mother-Daughter Date Night at Oscars 2026
Kate Hudson turned the 2026 Oscars into a golden mother-son outing.
Following the award show, the Song Sung Blue actress—who left the ceremony empty handed after Hamnet’s Jessie Buckley won Best Actress in a Leading Role—was all smiles as she attended the Vanity Fair Oscars after-party with a very special guest.
Kate hit the red carpet alongside son Ryder Robinson, whom she shares with ex-husband Chris Robinson. And the 22-year-old towered over his mother as they posed together wearing matching black ensembles at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art March 15.
Kate, 46, opted for a sparkly black Gucci gown, featuring a cutout on the bodice, giving a glimpse of her abs. Ryder, meanwhile, looked dashing in a black tuxedo, which he paired with a white button-down shirt and an off-white ribbon tie.
But Ryder wasn’t the only family member to join Kate for Hollywood’s biggest night. Her mom Goldie Hawn was Kate’s date for the Oscars at the Dolby Theatre, five decades after Goldie won her own Best Actress in a Supporting Role Oscar for Cactus Flower in 1970.
The mother-daughter duo looked stunning for the Conan O’Brien-hosted ceremony, as Goldie wore a black glittery Grayseful by Maria Lopez gown, while Kate donned a glittery mint green Armani Privé gown with a peplum bodice.
But the real stars of the Almost Famous alum’s look were her 41 carats of rare green diamonds from Garatti, including a dazzling necklace and stud earrings worth $35 million.

Kate—who is also mom to son Bingham, 14, with ex-fiancé Matt Bellamy and daughter Rani, 7, with fiancé DannyFujikawa—admitted that Danny wasn’t an automatic shoe-in to be her date for the big night, sharing that she was saving the ticket for her mom.
"I hope she's my date. We'll see. It would be nice," she shared on The Actor’s Side podcast in February. "We'll see how that works, too, but I'd like to have my mom on my arm. I'm like, 'I love you, Danny, but I feel like Mommy might need to be my date for the Oscars.' But we'll see."
