Karen Huger, 61, fans worry she'll be kicked off Real Housewives Of Potomac if she gets jail time for DUI

Real Housewives of Potomac's Karen Huger is in heaps of trouble after wrecking her Maserati in an accident and being charged with driving under the influence.

The reality TV star, 61, got in the accident in March and on December 18, she was convicted on charges of a DUI among other charges.

She was also convicted of negligently driving a vehicle in a careless and imprudent manner endangering property, life, and person, failure to control vehicle speed on the highway to avoid a collision, and driving a vehicle in excess of reasonable and prudent speed on the highway.

At the trial, the body cam footage from the night was released, showing Karen looking disheveled, out of it, and insisting she was 'run off the road' though she had no memory of what that car looked like.

In two unintentionally hilarious moments from the video, she tells Maryland police officers that she's 'the Grande Dame' and 'Thomas Jefferson's concubine.'

All of this is causing her fans to react in varying displays of dismay and question whether or not Huger will be kicked off of the Bravo franchise.

In another clip she responded to questioning by the officers by saying, 'So, what’s your point, sir? I’m sorry, It’s not you. I’m drunk, I’m extremely intelligent,' she told him while slumped in her seat. 'And I’m Thomas Jefferson’s concubine.'

Huber is scheduled for sentencing in January and if she gets jail time, it could affect her participation in the Bravo Real Housewives franchise.

'She would need to clean up her act [for Bravo] to move forward with her,' a source told Page Six, adding that no talks have been had with Huger on the subject.

The insider adds that since Season 9 of RHOP, which is currently airing, was 'already shot,' Huger’s scenes will not be affected.

One fan pointed out: 'Pride cometh before the fall is the only way to describe #KarenHuger DUI. Her lawyer should’ve bargained a guilty plea in exchange for a terminated license, 90 day rehab & sealed arrest footage. This could’ve been her season of accountability & rehabilitation…now look.'

'Not Karen Huger telling the cop who arrested her after her DUI crash that people call her the Grand Dame,' someone else wrote.

Another fan chimed in, writing, 'I just want to know who Karen was with before she drove home, bc whoever saw she was that drunk and let her drive home is not her friend. Ain’t no way any of my friends would let me leave and drive that intoxicated.'

'Good morning to Karen Huger telling the police officer that arrested her she is Thomas Jefferson’s Concubine only,' a fan amusingly posted.

The consequences for a first-time DUI in the state of Maryland are a fine of $1,000 and up to one year in jail, according to the Maryland Department Of Transportation.

However, this is not Karen's first such incident - as she has admitted. 'I pulled over,' Karen told Bossip in a 2016 interview.

'Technically I wasn’t driving, I was pulled over into a parked area where you should not park. I turned off the car and I called my husband. However, the teddy bear cops found me first, and I collected my DUI.'

She later pleaded guilty to Driving While Impaired by Alcohol according to the outlet, and received probation.

In a statement, Huger's legal team said they were 'disappointed in the jury's verdict' and suggested they may appeal the decision.

'Although we are disappointed in the jury's verdict, we of course respect their decision and appreciate their time hearing our case,' said attorney A. Scott Bolden.

'We continue to reserve Mrs. Huger's right to an appeal and intend to fully pursue justice on her behalf. We appreciate your support and prayers for Mrs. Huger and her family at this time.'

In her own statement, Huger said she was doing 'fine' after the accident, and said it happened due to her being in a 'super emotional state' as per the publication.

She was also charged with negligently driving a vehicle in a careless and imprudent manner endangering property, life, and person, and recklessly driving a vehicle in wanton and willful disregard

She had been at a dinner with a friend where they discussed emotional issues, including Karen's late mother.

Karen said the dinner had made her emotional and she was 'bawling' while trying to get home, causing her to swerve in order to avoid a car driving at her. She made no mention of being intoxicated or arrested.

Several witnesses appeared in court on Tuesday, December 17, according to Fox 5 DC, with one man alleging that Huger's crashed car smelled of alcohol.

One of the EMTs at the scene claimed that Huger, who denied assistance, cursed at them and 'swayed' while getting into the ambulance.

Once inside the emergency vehicle, the EMT claimed that Huger repeatedly told first responders to 'f*** off' and to 'go f*** [themselves.'

But within minutes, Huger started complimenting a 'beautiful' female firefighter on the scene.
