K-Pop Demon Hunters Meets Minecraft In New RPG City Builder

Ever since KPop Demon Hunters was dropped onto Netflix, its influence across all media has been felt profoundly. While it borrowed a lot from other popular media of the time, namely Sony's own Spider-Verse films, its catchy music, fun plot, and endearing characters have left an enduring legacy that will, at the very least, spawn numerous spin-offs and sequels that'll dominate for a short while. Naturally, as we enter the KPop Demon Hunters golden era, several other new projects will seek to capitalize on its success, consciously or otherwise.

One such title is a bizarre mash-up that combines the idol component of KPop Demon Hunters and its catchy tunes with the gameplay of Minecraft. Sure, it isn't quite the official KPop Demon Hunters game some may have been hoping for, but it should hopefully suffice, at least until one inevitably releases or Netflix merely opts to add the Huntrix team to its new minigolf game. At the very least, this merging of KPop Demon Hunters and Minecraft should prove to be entertaining fare for fans of both.

If You Like KPop Demon Hunters, You'll Like This

Since it was released in late 2025, there have been several games that ape KPop Demon Hunters one way or another. Whether it's the distinct art style that made the film so captivating in the first place, or its central themes, focus on mythological creatures, supernatural elements, or otherwise, developers, especially within the indie scene, can't help but borrow from the iconic film. Of course, in some instances, the comparisons are coincidental, but it isn't hard to understand why certain games would want to replicate the success of KPop Demon Hunters, at least to some extent.

Whether by coincidence or otherwise, it's hard to deny that the incredibly titled Warota: I Live Next to The Demon King's Castle LOL isn't the perfect game for fans of KPop Demon Hunters. After you're reincarnated in the world of Luna, you must build up your city, gather fellow villagers, and then fend off waves of attacks from all manner of creatures while the Idol Demon King plays live music nearby. That is genuinely the plot of this bizarre mash-up of Minecraft's crafting and KPop Demon Hunters' very essence and narrative, and, amazingly, it has the potential to work.

Warota: I Live Next to The Demon King's Castle LOL Is The Full Title (Seriously)

Ridiculous title aside, Warota: I Live Next to The Demon King's Castle LOL has a lot to offer fans of city builders and RPGs. It tasks players with constructing a village out of the 30 different buildings available, with a vast degree of freedom afforded to do so through the game's Minecraft-esque voxel-based sandbox. There are 20 classes in the game, which can be switched between freely by changing your hat (trust us, it works), and these can also be given to your villagers, who join to help out with the construction, farming, cooking, guarding and so much more.

There are numerous biomes to explore, dungeons to clear, and monsters to defeat whenever the Idol Demon King hosts a live concert right outside of your burgeoning village. In many ways, Warota: I Live Next to The Demon King's Castle LOL resembles Dragon Quest Builders (which obviously took heavy inspiration from Minecraft), with its isometric perspective and hack and slash combat. Honestly, while the title may sound a little juvenile, there appears to be a lot for prospective players to get stuck into, especially those who fit snugly into the cross-section between Minecraft lovers and KPop Demon Hunters aficionados.

Warota: I Live Next to The Demon King's Castle LOL is releasing at some point in 2026, although a firm date hasn't been given. This means it'll end up being the perfect distraction for those eagerly anticipating the inevitable KPop Demon Hunters 2 film. It is possible that the developer, One or Eight, will drop another Closed Beta, as its first one concluded back in June; so, if you are interested in this odd KPop Demon Hunters-esque experience, then be sure to wishlist it on Steam to be notified of when it drops, and if another Beta is made available.
