Justin Bieber revealed to no longer be following Usher on Instagram amid fan concerns for pop star

Justin Bieber is no longer following his longtime friend and former mentor Usher.

According to The Sun, the 30-year-old pop superstar appears to have unfollowed Usher on Instagram recently.

Bieber's follower list confirms that he is no longer following the 46-year-old singer, but Usher's Instagram page confirms that he still follows the younger performer.

The Baby singer — who is reportedly plotting a musical comeback tour for later this year — also appeared to have unfollowed several other people who had been a major part of his orbit in previous years.

DailyMail.com has reached out to representatives for both Bieber and Usher for comment.

Fans noticed that Bieber was no longer following Usher just over a week after eagle-eyed users noticed that he was no longer following his former manager Scooter Braun.

However, Braun had also deactivated his Instagram account at the time, which would have also removed him from Bieber's list of followed accounts.

Fans also noticed that Bieber was no longer following Allison Kaye, his former manager from SB Projects, as well as Kenny Hamilton, who served as his bodyguard for a short time in the late 2000s.

Poo Bear, a singer–songwriter who served on a producer on several of Justin's albums — including his most recent, 2021's Justice — received similar treatment.

Also now missing from Bieber's followed list is Ryan Good, the creative director of his Drew House fashion label.

Good is a connection from Usher's early days mentoring the rising star, as he helped install Good as Bieber road manager.

Later, the rising star joked that Good was his 'swag coach' because of his influence on his burgeoning fashion sense.

But their connection wasn't just personal, as Good also served as his best man when he married Hailey Bieber.

The news about Bieber's culled following list comes after an insider told DailyMail.com that he had been completely 'thrown' by the disturbing allegations made against Sean 'Diddy' Combs.

'Bieber is so disturbed by the Diddy news and is unwilling to process it or discuss it so he has shut off,' they said.

'So many people who helped to make him who he is were very close to Diddy and it has completely thrown him,' the insider continued. 'Justin hasn't been responding on this since the home raids [on Diddy's mansions]. He's not going to.'

In the early years of his career, Bieber attracted a bevy of fans online by cover songs by more established artists, including Usher.

It was the Yeah singer who brought Bieber as a 'gift' to the music mogul L.A. Reid, and it was Usher and Reid who brought him into Diddy's orbit, according to Reid's 2016 tell-all memoir.

Reid recalled Usher introducing him to Bieber, who was 14 at the time.

He described the rising star as 'beautiful' and 'adorable,' with an 'amazing voice.'

After Reid decided to sign Bieber 'straight away,' Usher continued to mentor him and eventually introduced him to Diddy, who would also serve as a mentor figure to him, as he had done for Usher years earlier.

Reid noted that it was Diddy who ultimately talked him out of hastily dropping Bieber as an artist after his voice changed during puberty — echoing steps he took to keep Reid from dropping a young Usher when the same thing happened to his voice.

Diddy has since been accused of sexually assaulting multiple women, and he was hit with federal charges for sex trafficking and racketeering. The rap mogul has adamantly denied all of the charges and allegations against him.

Late last year, a source told Us Weekly that Bieber was in a hard place mentally' as he struggled to come to terms with the shocking claims made against Diddy

'He has such a history with Diddy and the allegations against him have been hard to process,' they said.

Following the release of Diddy's The Love Album: Off The Grid in 2023, Bieber reflected on social media about how he once pitched a song at age 14 to the rapper-turned-executive that got a 'hard no,' only for Diddy to ask him to collaborate on his latest album years later.

Fans had previously worried that there had been a falling out between Usher and his former mentee after Bieber rejected his offer to join him as a guest during his stint headlining the 2024 Super Bowl halftime show.

Insiders told DailyMail.com that Bieber turned down the show because he now prefers to make music quietly behind-the-scenes, and he is less interested in major performances.

The Sorry singer assuaged fears that he had had a falling out with Usher at the time when he supported his old friend from a private box at the Super Bowl, and he praised the headliner in social media post.
