In an interview with ScreenRant's Tatiana Hullender for From season 4, Cheramy was asked about what she would like to explore with Julie in the show's fifth and final season. The actor reveals that she would like to continue following Julie's storywalking, and she wants this journey to include finding past reincarnations of her mother, Tabitha Matthews (Catalina Sandino Moreno), and Jade Herrera (David Alpay). Check out her comments below:
I would love it if Julie continued on her storywalking path. That is my number one thing that I want her to do, but I want her to go back, and I want her to just get answers to help people. If Tabitha and Jade are so confused about these reincarnations of themselves and what that means for them, Julie could go back to a time when Christopher or Miranda was alive, or any of the other reincarnates, talk to them, and see what they know. Why did they end up dying? Was it because they knew too much, all this stuff? Go back with that information to Tabitha and Jade and assist. Julie has such potential to be an assister, I guess is the word I'll use. She has so much potential to aid people. She's not on the front lines pioneering the escape, but she can go, and she can get the knowledge to then help those people, like Boyd, like Jade, Tabitha, figure stuff out.
As of season 4, episode 4, when it comes to storywalking, Julie is only focused on figuring out the rules and whether she can save her father through it. Cheramy sees this ability serving a greater purpose, which is to learn from Tabitha and Jade's past reincarnations, including Miranda (Sarah Booth) and Christopher (Thom Payne), and use this information to help From's characters in the present.
In order to reach this point, Julie would need to start thinking beyond her own grief and consider the wider implications of her power. She also needs to discover that her mother and Jade have lived numerous past lives in the Town, as she still has not been told this information. Tabitha and Jade are also unaware of Julie's storywalking, with Ethan and Randall Kirkland (A.J. Simmons) being the only ones who know about it right now.
A long-running complaint about From is that too many characters keep critical information to themselves. Julie, Tabitha, and Jade have told some select individuals about their major secrets, but the overall secrecy is a continuation of the larger issue. With six episodes left in season 4 and one more season to follow, there is plenty of time to change that, but time is running out with the Man in Yellow (Douglas E. Hughes) disguised as Sophia (Julie Doyle) and pushing the residents closer to killing each other.
In the scene where Jim dies, it is made clear that the Man in Yellow is aware of time-traveling Julie and what she is trying to do with her ability. Present-day Julie has now seen the Man in Yellow in his true form for the first time after her latest storywalking venture, where she sees him eating parts of a bloody corpse, and he sees her before Randall pulls her out of the ruins.
Regardless of whether past reincarnations of Tabitha and Jade appear via storywalking, Julie appears to be on a collision course with the Man in Yellow. Between this and her unique power, she may end up being the most important resident in From's endgame, even more so than Tabitha, Jade, or Boyd Stevens (Harold Perrineau).
