Will 'The Holiday' Get a Sequel? Jude Law Reveals His One Requirement Before Saying Yes! (Exclusive)
We haven’t seen the last of Mr. Napkin Head.
Amid the enduring rumors about a possible sequel to The Holiday, the film’s director Nancy Meyers found the perfect moment to get the answer to the one burning question. And she went straight to the source, one of the film’s stars Jude Law, in a cheeky video from their recent reunion.
“Congratulations on your so deserved star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame,” Nancy said as she filmed the 51-year-old from across the table in an Instagram video shared Dec. 12. “That’s amazing.”
However, she then Nancy gets straight to business, noting that it’s been 18-years since they wrapped The Holiday and fans have questions.
“Speaking of which,” she adds. “I’ve seen you interviewed a lot, and they keep asking you if there’s going to be a sequel, what do you think?”
Jude playfully looks at the camera, before reprising one of his most iconic moments from the film, when he performs Mr. Napkin Head for his young daughters and Cameron Diaz’s character. The Skeleton Crew star wordlessly grabbed a napkin, placed it over his head and put glasses over it and silently pondered the question.
Jude starred alongside Cameron Kate Winslet and Jack Black in the 2006 rom-com that saw two single women—one from Los Angeles and one from Surrey, England—switch locations for the holidays and each end up finding unsuspecting romance.
And Jude recently admitted that when it comes to playing Graham Simpkins—the brother of Kate’s Iris who happens to fall in love with her houseguest—he had one major stipulation for signing on to another film.
“Of course I would,” he told E! News earlier this month. “I mean we’d have to be led by the great Nancy Meyers. She’s unique in her filmmaking. She’s not just a writer, director but she creates that sort of aesthetic, that world and you see it in her other films.”

He added, “I’m curious, just because there were two very sweet couples and it would be interesting to drop back in now, and just see what they are doing.”
And, as the OG film’s title suggest, it has to be set at the holiday season.
“Would it be Christmas again?” he said. “It would have to be. You don’t want to see them on a holiday in the sun.”
