The world of reality TV has said goodbye to one of their own. 

Jordan Wright, best known for starring on the shows Ex on the Beach and The Only Way Is Essex, died in Thailand, a spokesperson for TOWIE told Deadline March 19. He was 33.

The rep for the ITV series a statement, “Everyone at TOWIE sends their deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Jordan Wright at this very sad time.”

Wright's cause of death has yet to be released as investigators await autopsy results. 

The body of a British man had been found in stagnant water by a worker close to Bang Tao Beach, Phuket around 12:30 p.m. on March 14, police told the Daily Mail, adding the location was about 20 minutes away from the hotel Wright had been staying at.

“The guest was identified as Mr. Jordan Wright, a British national, whom the hotel had been unable to contact,” police chief Sutthirak Chuthong of Choeng Thale district station told the outlet. “A search of the room revealed no signs of forced entry or other irregularities.”

He added, “Hotel records showed that he had checked in alone and was due to check out on March 13, but staff reported that he never checked out.”

The police chief explained that CCTV footage appeared to show that Wright looked “restless and was moving back and forth in front of the hotel before leaving the area,” saying, “His movements eventually led to the location where his body was later discovered.”

Police Lieutenant Colonel Suthirak Chuthong told Daily Mail that authorities believe Wright had been dead for no more than two days before being found, sharing that the “case remains under investigation while we wait for the official autopsy results.”

“We cannot confirm the exact cause of death until the autopsy results are released,” he continued. “If relatives or friends have concerns about the cause of death, they can contact the police station.”

Wright first rose to fame when he appeared on MTV UK’s Ex on the Beach in 2017 before appearing on The Only Way Is Essex the following year. 

In recent years Wright had documented his life on Instagram, giving fans a look at his workout routines, motorcycle rides and vacations, including in the weeks before he died.

His last post on the platform was a carousel of photos from Thailand posted on March 6, which he captioned, “I’m Home.”
