Kate Gosselin's Lawyer Says She Never "Intentionally Harmed" Son Collin or Her Other Kids
Collin Gosselin is embarking on a new chapter after accusing his mom Kate Gosselin of tying him up and locking him in the family basement as a child.
His dad Jon Gosselin shared that the 20-year-old is now focusing on his academic career, recently starting his freshman year at Penn State.
“I just saw him the other day,” the Jon & Kate Plus 8 alum told TMZ Sept. 25. “He’s just moving forward, past everything that happened to him.”
Jon added of his son, “He’s doing really well.”
The former TLC star shares 23-year-old twins Cara Gosselin and Madelyn Gosselin, as well as Collins’ 20-year-old sextuplet siblings Leah Gosselin, Alexis Gosselin, Aaden Gosselin, Joel Gosselin, and Hannah Gosselin with his ex-wife Kate.
And though he believes Collin has gained “closure” by publicly sharing his story, Jon doesn’t see a mother-son reconciliation in the cards.
“If I had to predict, I don’t think that’ll ever happen,” he said. “Just because there’s so much animosity.”
In addition to Collin’s allegations about his upbringing, he also claimed he was discharged from the Marines as a result of being institutionalized by his mother in 2016.
“I was towards the end of training, very close to graduating,” he told Entertainment Tonight in August. “The paperwork was looked into, and they found out that I was in fact in an institution at one point in my life. And see they don’t need any deeper reason.”
For her part, Kate has not publicly addressed on Collin’s allegations, with her lawyer Richard Puelo telling Fox News that the I Just Want You to Know author “never wants to comment because she always knows that this gets taken out of context.”
"The facts belie the truth," he added. "She has no comment because it’s not going to change the past. And I don’t believe she intentionally harmed any of her children in any way, shape or form."
Jon and Kate were married from 1999 to 2009, documenting their life with their eight children on their TLC reality series. The show was rebranded to Kate Plus 8 following their divorce.

Sextuplets' 20th Birthday
