Johnny Depp and Penélope Cruz are slated to work on their fourth film together.

The Oscar-nominated actor, 61, and Oscar-winning actress, 50, who were pictured together last month in her native Spain, will star in the action thriller Day Drinker, with Marc Webb, 50, directing, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The Lionsgate movie will be sold internationally at the forthcoming American Film Market film festival beginning November 5 in Las Vegas, according to the outlet.

The motion picture will mark Depp's biggest-yet attempt to revive his silver screen career amid years of scandal in the wake of his contentious split with Amber Heard.

Depp and Cruz have previously appeared in the films Blow (2001), Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides (2011) and Murder on the Orient Express (2017).

The Oscar-winning actress was seen September 20 at the San Sebastian International Film Festival in San Sebastian, Spain

Depp starred in the French movie Jeanne du Barry in 2023, and directed this year's independent film Modi: Three Days on the Wing of Madness.

THR noted that both projects 'were not commercial plays' and financed by European investors.

The storyline of the project, the outlet reported, was described as 'a cruise ship bartender' and 'a mysterious day drinker' crossing paths and finding 'themselves entangled in a criminal underbelly, and connected in unexpected ways.'

Lionsgate exec Adam Fogelson told the outlet in a statement: 'Day Drinker combines a highly commercial concept with wildly outrageous twists and turns all set in an incredible world, and there is no better filmmaker than Marc or two more perfectly cast actors than Johnny and Penélope to bring that world to life.'

At the 2023 Cannes Film Festival, Depp spoke about how his scandalous split from Heard impacted his show business career.

'Did I feel boycotted by Hollywood?' he said. 'You'd have to not have a pulse to feel like, "No. None of this is happening. It's a weird joke." When you're asked to resign from a film you're doing because of something that is merely a function of vowels and consonants floating in the air, yes, you feel boycotted.'

Depp added, 'I don't feel boycotted by Hollywood, because I don't think about Hollywood.'

Producers on Day Drinker include Adam Kolbrenner, Zach Dean, Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee, THR reported.

The pair's volatile relationship was explored throughout the drug drama, which also starred the late Ray Liotta

The tandem was seen in March of 2001 at Mann's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, California for the film's premiere
