Beginning on Broadway, Catherine Zeta-Jones has led a legendary career on the silver screen, from her Oscar-winning performance in the 2002 adaptation of the musical Chicago to Steven Soderbergh's Traffic, Steven Spielberg's dramedy The Terminal, and the swashbuckling classic The Mask of Zorro. Heading into the 2020s, though, her pursuits have mostly shifted to television. Her turn as Morticia Addams in Netflix's immensely popular Wednesday, especially, has earned no shortage of acclaim, including a Saturn Award nomination as a guest star. However, this fall, she's about to take on the title role in a new thriller series that will let her embrace her demons on an action-packed international journey.

We're excited to include Kill Jackie as part of Collider's Exclusive Fall Preview series and, ahead of its premiere in October on AMC+, we can share three new images teasing where Zeta-Jones' dangerous game will take her. Unveiled back in July, the series follows Jackie Price, once an international drug smuggler who's spent the last 20 years living a low-profile but luxurious life of globetrotting and art collecting until her past finally catches up with her. Out of nowhere, she learns that someone hired The Seven Demons, a collective of the world's most dangerous assassins, to take her out. Rather than be terrified, she chooses to take the initiative and enact a risky plan to pick off each of the Demons before they can reach her and track down who from her past now has their sights on her. The answer, Jackie soon learns, will force her to reckon with her own inner demons and will hit a little closer to home than she'd like.

In our images, Zeta-Jones' Jackie looks determined as she prepares for a life-and-death cat-and-mouse game that will take her across the country. One shot in particular sees her flanked by her lawyer, played by A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms star Daniel Ings, and Gwen, played by A Thousand Blows' Darci Shaw, as they walk into an airplane hangar, preparing to take flight in search of the Demons and revenge on whoever ordered the hit. This adventure will be as glamorous as it is bloody, as Jackie uses her riches to her advantage while still calling upon the vicious and gritty instincts that make her a threat to whoever comes after her. She's not about to be fazed by anyone trying to ruin the life of ill-gotten luxury she's built, even if she does have to look over her shoulder every time she goes out to her car.

AThere are rules and I respect them absolutely, right up until somebody breaks one against me. BI don't take orders. I take care of people, and everything else tends to sort itself out. ASomething was taken from me that can't be replaced, and I've been settling that account ever since. BBelonging. Die Hard invented the modern action hero by making him mortal: outgunned, out-planned, bleeding, and extremely funny about it.

'Kill Jackie' Hails From a Killer Team of Action Creatives

While Zeta-Jones anchors the action of Kill Jackie, the series also benefits from a creative team with quite the bombastic resume. Joining relative newcomer Conor Keane in bringing the series to life are Gangs of London writer Tom Butterworth, John Wick producer Peter Lawson, and Killing Eve director Damon Thomas. Butterworth serves as showrunner and co-writer with Keane, while Thomas works as lead director and Lawson headlines a team of executive producers with Jose Agustin Valdes for Steel Springs Pictures. Their collective effort is an adaptation of The Price You Pay by best-selling author Nick Harkaway, and they directly consulted the scribe to ensure the feeling of the novel was captured in the eight-part project.

The rest of the cast, meanwhile, is packed with star power. Bill Paterson and Ron Perlman also star alongside Zeta-Jones, Ings, and Shaw, while Sidse Babett Knudsen, Julian Barratt, Óscar Jaenada, Raff Law, Christine Adams, Julian Rhind-Tutt, Jonathan Cake, and more round things out.
