John Mellencamp has accomplished something major by passing the three-year mark in his relationship with girlfriend Kristin Kehrberg.

The original rebel of rock 'n roll, 74, has found a measure of stability with the multimillionaire socialite, 57, as they proved during a hand-in-hand stroll in New York City on Sunday.

The couple appeared to be totally in sync in dressed-down outfits with Mellencamp clad in baggy black trousers and a long black shirt over a white T-shirt.

Kehrberg was stylishly casual in faded jeans and black leather jacket over a T-shirt that seemed to match her man's.

The Jack and Diane singer, who shared a blunt update on daughter Teddi Mellencamp's cancer battle not long ago, wore his silver-streaked hair slicked back while the blonde beauty let her locks fall loose down her back.

Both looked cool in their dark sunglasses that not only kept the bright rays out of their eyes but added to the fashion statement.

They've been a twosome since early 2023 after meeting at a house party.

Before dating the musician, Kehrberg was married to advertising executive Richard Tarlow, who died in May 2022.

Back in October 2024, Mellencamp shared his take on his relationship with Kehrberg with People.

'We’ve been going together for a couple years, and that's good for me,' he said at the time. 'As lucky as I am, I'm not a day at the beach.'

It wasn't too long ago that Mellencamp admitted that he was a 's---ty boyfriend' to ex-fiancée Meg Ryan.

He blamed himself for the end of the off-and-on romance that came to a final stop in 2019.

'I love Meg Ryan. I went with her for 10 years. She doesn't love me so much,' Mellencamp told Esquire in 2023. 'She's a great girl. I'm just a s---ty boyfriend.'

Mellencamp's latest outing with Kehrberg comes on the heels of comments he made about daughter Teddi Mellencamp's ongoing Stage 4 cancer battle.

Speaking on the January 14 episode of The Joe Rogan Experience podcast, he described his daughter as being 'really sick.'

'It’s not f****** fun,' he said, revealing that the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum has cancer in her brain and is 'suffering right now.'

The remarks quickly raised fears that Teddi's condition had taken a sudden turn.

But Teddi, 44, addressed those comments on an episode of her Two T's in a Pod podcast with co-host Tamra Judge, saying that her father was not referring to a new medical setback.

'You know, I think when he said the words "suffering," he meant like, how I'm mentally doing versus how I'm physically doing,' Teddi said.

Teddi stressed that her condition has not worsened, telling listeners, 'No, there's still no trace of cancer. But I'm still considered stage four and I'm still in immunotherapy, so essentially nothing's changed. I would hope that I would be feeling better by now, but I really don't.'

Teddi did admit that the emotional weight of the past year is only now catching up with her.

'I also didn't properly process all of the things that happened when I had surgery, like from my divorce [from Edwin Arroyave] to all of a sudden being in emergency surgery, to, you know, not being able to see my kids when I was recovering,' she said.

But she added that therapy has helped her confront the toll it's taken.

The mother of three - who shares Slate, 12, Cruz, 11, and Dove, 5, with ex-husband Edwin Arroyave - was first diagnosed with melanoma in 2022.

In April 2025, she revealed the disease had progressed to stage four and metastasized to both her lungs and brain.

Over the years, Teddi has had 17 melanomas removed from her back, though doctors later discovered the cancer had already spread internally despite those interventions.
