Jessica Alba made a telling remark about her husband Cash Warren, years before it emerged the couple are going their separate ways.

This week, news broke Jessica has split with Cash as the estranged couple are reportedly heading toward divorce after 15 years of marriage.

The 43-year-old actress -  who has been seen without her wedding ring on recent outings -  recently separated from the 45-year-old film producer, according to TMZ on Wednesday.

A source for the publication said that the couple have recently separated and are moving forward with divorce.

Now, a podcast exchange has resurfaced in which Jessica told Katherine Schwarzenegger about how her marriage to Cash had changed over the years.

'It’s all rosy for two and a half years, but then after that you become roommates,' Jessica said in 2021 on Katherine's podcast Before, During And After Baby.

'You’re just going through the motions. It’s the responsibilities. It’s a lot of like checking the boxes, right?' Jessica reflected.

'And so, we used to do like: “Every Wednesday, we’re gonna do date night,” or: “Every week, we’re gonna set aside a time, we’re gonna at least to date night, right? We won’t have our phones and we’ll just like talk,”' she recalled.

'But then that stopped, because of whatever. And so we’re just not consistent, but I would say that being able to communicate when you’re unhappy and nipping it right away, instead of letting it sort of fester, and then you have animosity and then it explodes, which we’ve done – we’ve gone through that one too.'

She noted she and Cash had 'been together for like, we’re on 17 years,' joking that he 'basically stole my 20s and my 30s' from her.

'So we have, obviously, the friendship, the comfort of: “You’re not going anywhere,” and so sometimes we don’t treat those people the best, right?' she confessed.

'You don’t consider their feelings in the way that you would consider other people’s feelings. So that is something that I think is a constant, it’s a constant one to work on, because you’re at different places, right?' she added.

'One night a week, date night might be enough at some point of your life, but it might not be enough in a month. You might need something else.'

DailyMail.com reached out to reps for both Alba and Warren when news broke of the estranged couple's impending divorce.

It has been claimed that it remains unclear what brought the longtime couple to the decision to separate but there have been recent public signs of marital trouble.

Over the weekend, Jessica was seen without her wedding ring again on Saturday night as she partied it up with fellow A-listers at a pre-Golden Globes bash alongside Derek Blasberg.

While Alba enjoyed a night out with friends on Saturday night, she spent Friday afternoon with her three kids and husband Warren.

The entire family headed to Universal Studios Hollywood theme park to celebrate Alba and Warren's son Hayes' seventh birthday.

Despite fueling split rumors on a number of recent wedding ring-free outings and a cryptic post on New Year's Eve, the couple, who have been married since 2008, came together for a fun-filled afternoon with their little boy and daughters Honor, 16, and Haven, 13.

'The best day at #UniversalStudios celebrating our 7️⃣ year old, Hayes!' Alba captioned a slideshow, featuring cute snaps taken throughout the amusement park. 'Thank you for having us, @unistudios.'

There seemed to be no tension between Alba and Warren as they posed for several with each other, alongside their little ones.

In one snap, the pair looked every inch the supportive parents while smiling with the birthday boy in the middle of Super Nintendo World.

Other pictures featured Alba with Honor and Haven walking through The Wizarding World of Harry Potter and sweet moments of their family enjoying quality time.

Alba reminisced about her baby boy turning seven on Sunday by sharing a sweet Instagram reel that included another photo of herself and Warren posing for a warm family snap.

Specifically, the parents stood close to one another as they smiled with Hayes.

The reel also featured some of Alba's favorite clips and photos of the adorable seven-year-old.

'Still in my feels about the fact that my baby boy turned 7 this week ❤️ #ThisIs7 #Hayes,' penned Alba.

The family's trip to Universal Studios came just days after Alba raised eyebrows by sharing a quote from Mary Oliver, to her Instagram Story, that read, 'Keep some room in your heart for the unimaginable.'

Alba seemed to be hinting that the 'unimaginable' is a change in her love life.

For weeks, fans have been expressing fears that she and Warren have called it quits.

Last Tuesday, the Honest Company founder shared an Instagram post about new beginnings.

As she wished her followers a happy 2025, Jessica said she was moving on from the past.

Warren met the Dark Angel actress on the set of the Fantastic Four in 2004 and got married in May 2008.

In a large carousel of photos, not one included Cash. Most of the photos were of herself alone, her with her daughters Honor and Haven, or her with her pack of female friends.

She also posted a note about moving on from bad vibes: '2024 cleared the path, 2025 claims the magic.'

She also included this quote: 'My mantra for 2025: If it messes with my peace, it's too damn pricey. If it dims my shine, it's got to go. If it makes me question my worth, it's getting left in 2024. I'm entering 2025 focused and fully in my power.'

In her caption she wrote: 'Gratitude ❤️ Here’s to a colorful past year that was filled with connection, growth, adventures, laughter, peace, sisterhood, transformation, rebirth, joy and so much love.

'Sending hugs to everyone going through it- cheers to 2025 and even more love to come! Let’s goooo! #2025 #YearOfTheSnake #HappyNewYear.'

She then explained the Year of The Snake.

'Repost: The Year of the Snake teaches us profound self-improvement, encouraging growth from within and expanding our consciousness.

'It reminds us that becoming a better version of ourselves allows for greater flexibility, shedding rigidity, and embracing transformation.'

Her post comes just days after she raised eyebrows by sharing a quote from Mary Oliver, to her Instagram Story, that read, 'Keep some room in your heart for the unimaginable'

She also did not have her rings on when dining in Rome, Italy, where production has begun on her new movie Maserati: The Brothers.

Warren previously revealed the couple split up over his overwhelming jealousy four years into their relationship.

According to a recently resurfaced E! story, Cash revealed in August 2023 on the Whine Down with Jana Kramer podcast that he was 'really jealous' of other guys.

'When we first started dating, I was really jealous of other guys and the attention she was getting from other guys,' Cash admitted.

'It just wasn't making me feel good. I was always a pretty confident person in my own [life], walking my own path and really happy there,' Cash continued.

'Next thing you know I'm looking up and feeling jealous all the time,' Cash spilled.

'We broke up four years into our relationship. It was the jealousy. I was turning into an a**hole, and so we broke up,' Cash said.

On the same podcast, Cash said he is his wife's 'biggest cheerleader' and he's 'not interested in the spotlight.'

The resurfaced interview comes to light after the Into the Blue star was spotted with Italian producer Andrea Iervolino without her wedding ring on.

Andrea is producing Maserati: The Brothers, the sports car biopic starring Alba, Michele Morrone, Anthony Hopkins, and Andy Garcia.

The Barely Lethal actress showed off pictures from their family trip on Instagram, including photos of Cash.

'Mexico with my mains,' she captioned the post full of family photos, including a video of Cash and her son surfing.

Followers complimented her 'beautiful family' and said she and her daughters looked like 'sisters.'
