Jennifer Lopez, 57, captivates fans with makeup-free complexion as she talks being an 'empty nester' after sending twins to college

Jennifer Lopez stunned fans on Friday evening as she shared a bare-faced Instagram reel via her JLo Beauty brand.

The 57-year-old multihyphenate gave followers a glimpse at her skincare routine as she reflected on maintaining her daily rituals despite being in a new season of life – one in which her twins Max and Oskar Muñiz, 18, are off to college.

'I was just about to start my skincare routine, and I was thinking about routines because my kids are going away to college,' she began.

The mom of two said she spent as much time as she could with the teens this summer, which included a trip to Italy. 

'And the travel was crazy, and it wreaks havoc on your skin,' she reflected, adding, 'But those routines really keep you going. I think when they go away, and I'm sitting here being an empty nester, and crying, and thinking about them and looking at baby pictures of them... these routines are the things that are going to keep me kind of sane.'

Lopez, who was raised in the Bronx, listed working out and doing her skincare as her everyday emotional anchors.

Lopez welcomed twins Oskar and Max with Anthony, 58, in 2008 during their ten-year marriage. 

The proud parent said she's excited for her kids 'to step into this new era of their life,' while also recognizing that it's a new era of her life as well. 

'It's a scary time, it's a transitional time, it's a new beginning in a lot of ways,' she declared while speaking against a backdrop of a blue sky and green treetops.

She urged viewers to 'keep your routines going, stay hydrated, stay happy, stay joyful, stay productive.'

'You're gorgeous,' gushed one follower in the comments, while others called her a 'natural beauty.' 

In June, Lopez appeared to snub Anthony as she said she had 'very little help' raising her twins following their 2014 divorce.

While on the SmartLess podcast, she expressed pride in getting her kids through high school and prepping them for college on her own.

'I was like, "You did that s*** all by yourself. That's great." Like, "You had very little help," you know?' said the Bronx native. 

'Now, I can really look at my life, appreciate it for what it is and what I've created for myself and be really happy,' the actress reflected. 

Known for her supple skin, Lopez launched JLo Beauty on January 1, 2021.

In November 2025, the brand announced it won the Beauty Innovation Award for Eye Mask Product of the Year. 

The item promises to 'define and depuff,' and on Instagram, JLo Beauty captioned a post, 'We're truly honored and so thankful for this recognition. Thank you to everyone who's tried, loved, and shared your first take glow with us.'

A separate post noted that the product is 'powered by advanced tetrapeptides + hyaluronic acid.'
