Jennifer Lopez has to now consider what home life will be like when her twins move out this summer.
The 56-year-old has 18-year-old twins Max and Emme - who now goes by Oskar - with her ex-husband Marc Anthony.
And while her kids are gearing up to leave for college in August, the Office Romance actress has been feeling emotional about being at her $18 million Hidden Hills, California mansion without her children.
Speaking on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, she said: 'It's an emotional time. It's been the three of us.
'People have come in and out of my life, but it's been the three of us. They've always been there, and I've always been there.
'I just never thought they would not be there. I just never thought that far ahead,' she said as she braces for the pain of empty nest syndrome.

Empty nest syndrome (ENS) refers to the feelings of grief, loneliness, and loss of purpose that parents often experience when their last child leaves the family home, according to Better Health Channel.
While ENS is not an officially recognized clinical condition, the psychological impact can be significant, particularly for stay-at-home parents or primary caregivers.
'I thought, too, that they're so independent. I've given them roots and wings,' added Lopez.
The Bronx native has tried to teach her twins right from wrong over the years, and in doing so she has discovered they tend to copy what she does more than what she advises them to do.
She said: 'They do what they see you do. It's not so much what you tell them all the time.
'Even though I'm trying to download everything I've ever learned in my life, every lesson I've ever [learned], to them right now before they leave in August…
'I still feel like who you are as a person, how you act, what they see you do, if you work hard, they become more hard workers.'

And the This Is Me... Now singer has noticed her twins picking up some of her 'good traits' despite the pair being keen to forge their own paths in life.
She explained: 'They mimic you in this weird way and learn from you, even though they act like they're opposite [to] you.
'My kids [are like], "I don't want to be anything like you. I want to have my own path."
'They see this persona and it's such a thing, But I also see them ... not mimic, but just pick up things that are the good traits about you.'
Her next movie is the psychological thriller The Last Mrs Parrish; seen filming in October
In May, the ex-wife of Ben Affleck shared she had been 'crying for two months' about her twins' graduation.
Speaking on a Jimmy Kimmel Live! episode on May 27, she said: 'Tomorrow, one of them graduates. Don't talk about it 'cos we start crying. I've been crying for two months.'
It took Jennifer two days to write messages in her children's yearbooks. She explained: 'When I tell you, the tears... two days it took me to write those things.'
Her next movie is the psychological thriller The Last Mrs Parrish with Isabel May which is due out later this year or early next year.
JENNIFER LOPEZ'S CHILDREN GET INTO COLLEGE
BY HEIDI PARKER
Jennifer Lopez revealed if her twins Max and Emme (who now goes by Oskar) got into the college of their dreams.
The star told Extra that the teenagers, whose father is singer Marc Anthony, applied to multiple universities.
And she was thrilled to report that both of the children got into all of the colleges they applied to. She did not say which college they have decided upon or if they are even going to the same university.
'I am so proud that they set goals for themselves,' began the Bronx-born beauty.
'They all got into all five colleges that they applied to. They both got a scholarship to each, you know, one scholarship to each. Each one got a scholarship to a school. And I just felt like they work so hard.'

She then shared that they hustled to get good grades. 'I watched how hard they worked, from the time they were like... when school gets serious in the fifth grade, and they just worked hard,' she continued.
'They have ADHD, and so they need to learn differently, and there were struggles and times, and I'm just so proud of them because they did what they said they were going to do, and they're good people.'
Lopez, who has been promoting her new movie Office Romance, added her kids are 'loving, good-hearted people.'
The ex-wife of Ben Affleck added, 'And they always said that. I always say to them, "What do I say?" And they say, "Doesn't matter if we get good grades so long as we're good people."
'And I was like, "That's right." And they still sometimes will quote that back to me. So I'm very proud of both of them.'
Earlier this month, Lopez said on Jimmy Kimmel Live! that she's been crying as her twins get ready for college.
'Tomorrow one of them graduates [high school],' she told Kimmel. Lopez then joked, 'Don't talk about it 'cause we start crying.'

Kimmel then jokingly asked, 'Will you look around at the other parents and see who's not crying and think, "I love my children more than they do?"'
The star then said, 'No. I think all the parents are going to be crying at some point.'
She then said that she was OK with them going to separate colleges: 'It's fine. I want them to be happy, go where they want to go, and do what they want to do.'
