Jennifer Grey goes topless with Michael J. Fox's wife Tracy Pollan in racy throwback photo for 66th birthday tribute

Jennifer Grey went topless with Michael J. Fox's wife Tracy Pollan as she shared a racy throwback snap of the pair. 

The 66-year-old Dirty Dancing star, who is close friends with the fellow actress, jumped to her main Instagram page on Monday to share the image in honor of Pollan's 66th birthday. 

In the photo, the pair could be seen donning only a pair of bikini bottoms as they spent time on a scenic beach when they were younger.

Grey draped an arm over her pal's shoulders who flashed a smile as the duo quickly paused for the picture. 

In the caption of the post, Grey penned: 'Happy birthday @tracy.pollan ♥️ Friendship like this is "if you fall I will catch you, I'll be waiting… time after time!"'

Pollan, who has been married to Fox since 1988, replied in the comment section with, 'Hahahaha I love you!!'  

The pair developed a close friendship decades earlier as teens when they were both attending New York City's Dalton School. 

'I've always been a girl's girl. I call my girlfriends my "framily." They're the people I trust most,' Grey previously told AARP's The Girlfriend.

'I've had the same friends forever. Sometimes you know who you are based on the people who know you so well.'

The actress added, 'My best friend is Tracy Pollan. My other best friend is Maggie Wheeler (Janice on Friends).' 

Grey continued, 'Having that continuity where people really know you and you have that shorthand, and you text them and say, "I need you" and they're there.'

She further told the outlet that, 'Sometimes people just need to be heard and have their pain heard. Sometimes you just have to say to your best friend, "Remember how happy you were yesterday? This too shall pass."' 

Earlier this year in February, Grey and Pollan whisked themselves away for a relaxing beach trip. 

The Ferris Bueller's Day Off actress uploaded snaps from the lowkey getaway and shared, 'Long overdue girls trip @tracy.pollan giggled like we were back in high school.'

Grey and Pollan have also supported each other's milestones both in the spotlight and their private lives as well. 

Pollan tied the knot with actor Michael J. Fox in 1988 and the couple are parents to four children: Sam, 37, Aquinnah, 31, Schuyler, 31, and Esme, 24. 

The Law & Order: SVU star is also an advocate for her husband amid his Parkinson's disease battle. 

The Back To The Future actor additionally shared a special birthday tribute to Pollan on his Instagram page on Monday. 

Fox shared a series of photos of the Family Ties alum and wrote, 'Wow!! Tracy, have the beautiful birthday you deserve. Love you xoxo ❤️.'

Grey was married to Clark Gregg from 2001 until their divorce was finalized in 2021. The former couple share daughter Stella, 24. 

The actress is also known for her roles in films such as Ferris Bueller's Day Off and Red Dawn. 

It was confirmed earlier this year in January that a sequel to the hit 1987 movie Dirty Dancing is officially in the works. 

The big update was also shared to Grey's Instagram page at the time, and she is set to reprise her role as Frances 'Baby' Houseman.

Lionsgate Motion Picture Group chairman Adam Fogelson had shared what fans can expect in a statement.

'We are moving full steam ahead so that both existing fans and new audiences can discover the magic, the music and the emotion that is in a new theatrical film meant for the big screen,' Fogelson said, per People. 

Grey had starred alongside Patrick Swayze in the original film. The actor passed away in 2009 at the age of 57 following a battle with pancreatic cancer.

Social media users had offered their thoughts on the sequel at the time of the announcement, with one penning, 'Dirty Dancing sequel actually happening is wild.'

Another typed, 'Jennifer Grey back? Cool. Without Swayze? Flop incoming,' and a fan added, 'Wait – what? How can you make a Dirty Dancing sequel WITH Jennifer Grey but WITHOUT Patrick Swayze?'

Others expressed excitement over the upcoming film as one shared, 'Dirty Dancing is a classic – it's hard to touch that magic again. I just hope they respect the original and don't turn it into a cheap reboot.' 

Grey will not only star in the forthcoming project, but she is also an executive producer as well. 

She previously opened up about the sequel during a past interview with People and said, 'And I know in my heart, I would love to give fans or a young, new audience an experience that would never replicate that, but has the same kind of underpinnings.

'Today people think that their identity is limited, the world has told them what it is. But there are certain people who can see other parts of you.'

The star continued, 'Dirty Dancing was a fairy tale, a successful movie and formula, using dance as a metaphor for embodying your energy and getting out of your head, and your limiting belief systems.'
