Jennifer Garner made her onscreen stepdaughter Angourie Rice laugh while filming the second season of their AppleTV+ thriller The Last Thing He Told Me inside an alley in downtown Los Angeles on Tuesday.

The 52-year-old Deadpool & Wolverine action star pulled a lot of animated expressions while chit-chatting with the 24-year-old Mean Girls star in between takes.

Jennifer serves as executive producer and reprises her role as woodworker Hannah Hall while Angourie is back as teenager Kristin 'Bailey' Michaels.

Crew members swirled around Garner and Rice as they prepared to film their outdoor scene on location.

Joining the talented twosome on set was Nikolaj Coster-Waldau as embezzler-on-the-run Ethan Young otherwise known as Owen Michaels, Kristin's father and Hannah's husband.

The Danish 54-year-old later walked beside his onscreen father-in-law David Morse, who plays Nicholas Bell, the lawyer to the Campano Family's mafia organization.

The Last Thing He Told Me co-developer and author Laura Dave is still writing the sequel to her New York Times bestseller, but she teased to Us Weekly on November 21: 'Hannah, we got to watch her become the hero of her own life in the first book and in the second book, she’s even more bada**.'

The four-time Emmy nominee - who replaced Julia Roberts in the role - appeared to be shooting a scene involving a large black SUV.

Jennifer looked sophisticated in a black double-breasted pantsuit over a matching blouse and towering platform boots selected by costumer Maria Bradley.

And make-up artist Nicole Venables made sure Garner was ready for her HD close-up.

The Kamala Harris campaigner first arrived to set with wet hair and her usual casual attire - sweatshirt, blue jeans, and sneakers.

Production officially began November 20 on the second season of The Last Thing He Told Me.

On October 15, Deadline reported that Jennifer's former 13 Going on 30 castmate Judy Greer had joined the cast in a 'recurring, undisclosed role.'

The first season of the thriller amassed 4.5M viewers in the first 31 days, making it Apple TV+'s most watched limited series.

However, season one also scored a dismal 41% critic approval rating (out of 34 reviews) and a 47% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.
