Grammys 2026: Jelly Roll's Wife Bunnie Xo Reveals the First Words She Ever Said to Him (Exclusive)

Bunnie Xo knows Jelly Roll has been waiting for this moment all his life.

The Dumb Blonde podcast host stepped out alongside her husband for the 2026 Grammys in Los Angeles on Feb. 1. And while walking the red carpet, she revealed the poignant first words she ever said to the country singer.

Indeed, Bunnie shared that she had a feeling Jelly Roll–who took home the trophies for Best Country Duo/Group Performance and Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song ahead of the ceremony hosted by Trevor Noah—would end up a Grammy winner.

"We were talking about it in the car on the ride here," the 46-year-old exclusively told Zuri Hall during Live From E!: Grammys. "We're just like, 'This is such a crazy, twisted fairytale. And he's like, 'I never saw this.' And I said, 'I did.' Because when I saw him the first night I met him, the first thing I said to him was, 'Your special,' and I meant it."

And while Bunnie may have seen the X-factor in Jelly Roll early on, she also recognized that he had a little help in his journey. (See all the stars who walked the carpet outside the Crypto.com Arena here.)

As she quipped, "I think behind every man is a woman that's pushing him."

And Jelly Roll's music career isn't the only area of his life that he's made incredible strides. The musician has been candid about his 200-pound weight loss journey.

For Jelly Roll, he was inspired to overhaul his diet after feeling like he was "on the brink of death."

“The biggest change I made was food,” he told E! News in January. "I'm not trying to stand on a soapbox, I'm just passionate about it, knowing how upside down our system is with food. And as an addict, it was hard for me to get away from it, so I did a lot of work with food.”

But that’s not the only way he put in the work.

“Running's been my real healer,” he continued. “[I] wake up and run every day—I mean every day, seven days a week—even if it's a recovery run, it's one mile and it's a 15 minute jog, really slow. I run every day.”

And should he feel unmotivated, he looks to his squad: Bunnie and their kids Bailee Ann, 17, and Noah, 9, who played a major factor.

“Bunnie played the [biggest] role to even get me here,” he noted at the time. “Every part of me that gets better is just another attempt to be a better husband and a better father. Losing the weight was the next part of that, but I still gotta find a way to be a better husband and a better father tomorrow. So I gotta keep evolving.”
