Ten-time Grammy nominated singer, songwriter, producer, author and actor Janelle Monáe is heading to UTA for representation in all areas including touring, media, filmed entertainment, brand partnerships and more.
The signing comes as Monáe is slated to appear in several projects, including a feature the Amazon MGM Studios feature, Is God Is, in theaters on May 15, and the new adult animated series Bass X Machina for Netflix, premiering on Oct. 6.

Monáe’s most recent album The Age of Pleasure (2023) received 2024 Grammy nominations for Album of the Year and Best Progressive R&B Album. Their debut album, The ArchAndroid (2010), introduced their retro‑futuristic alter ego and established them as a major new voice in contemporary music. They followed with The Electric Lady (2013) and Dirty Computer (2018), producing gold‑certified singles like “Tightrope,” “Yoga,” “Make Me Feel” and “I Like That” with Dirty Computer receiving 2019 Grammy Nominations for Album of the Year and Best Music Video.
Monáe starred in Netflix’s Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, Lionsgate’s Antebellum, the Amazon series Homecoming, as well as the Academy Award-winning film Moonlight and the Academy Award-nominated box office hit film Hidden Figures. As an author, Monáe released the New York Times best selling short story collection The Memory Librarian: And Other Stories of Dirty Computer in 2022, which expanded the narrative universe of Dirty Computer.
Monáe founded Wondaland Arts Society and Wondaland Pictures, which develops film, television, and multimedia projects under a first‑look deal with Universal Pictures. Additionally through Wondaland Arts Society, Monáe produces Wondaween, a month-long, city-wide Halloween festival to Los Angeles, which spans cemeteries, theaters, secret locations, the Hollywood Bowl and Santa Monica Pier.
