James Acaster and Maya Jama were both absent from the Celebrity Traitors Uncloaked live special on Friday night - after the tense final where the Faithful were victorious.

Faithfuls Romesh Ranganathan, 48, and Sebastian Croft, 24, were crowned the winners and split £83,000 after a nail-biting final which saw Traitors Maya and King Kenny be banished at the last hurdle.

Viewers applauded the duo for beating Traitors Maya, 32, and Kenny, 29, who went under the radar until Thursday's episode, when their fellow Traitor James revealed his identity in a moment of stress.

They scooped £41,500 each for their chosen charities - Choose Love for Croft and the Refugee Council for Ranganathan.

But after the final aired, Traitors Maya and James, 41, - who had a dramatic exit from the show - were absent from the live Uncloaked special with Ed Gamble and host Claudia Winkleman.

The pressure of the show got too much for James on Thursday night's penultimate episode where he admitted he was a Traitor and was then banished.

Michael Sheen - who was murdered in the final - also wasn't in attendance for Uncloaked but did send a video message during the show.

Viewers would have been shocked to see both Maya and James missing as they had both been such big parts of the show

It is believed that all the absent celebrities had prior work commitments which meant they had to miss the show.

Maya for example has been busy filming series two of The Gentlemen this week.

Representatives for Maya and James have been contacted by the Daily Mail for comment.

Viewers would have been shocked to see both Maya and James missing as they had both been such big parts of the show.

During the final Sebastian and Romesh shared an embrace as host Claudia congratulated them on their big win.

'I trusted Bash and I was right to. I cannot believe it! I just really hope my mum is proud,' the comedian said.

In his exit interview, Romesh added: 'I think my biggest highlight is making a friend in Bash - relying on the fact that I thought he was a friend in that end game and that paying off, that is something I feel really good about.

Sebastian broke down in tears and said: 'That was just incredible. This might actually be the best day of my life.'

Adding what the highlight of his experience was, the actor shared: 'It was the moment that Rom said the word Faithful, and the hug that we had was just wild, it was crazy.'

The duo then joined the host and celebrity finalists outside the picturesque Ardross Castle, where they raised a glass around the fire pit.

Fans branded the episode 'excellent television'.

'They deserved to win from the start. ICONIC,' one wrote on X. 'Romesh turned out to be very good at this game.'

'Yessss Romesh and Sebastian!! Aw really happy for them, played an excellent loyal game to the faithful and deserved it in the end!'

'Romesh and Bash both giving their winnings to charities that support refugees is the perfect cap to this series! made me feel genuinely proud to be British.'

'I've always said if any faithful had to win I'd love it to be Bash, Romesh and Leigh-Anne so 2 out of 3 ain't bad.'

James was absent from Uncloaked following his dramatic exit from the show on Thursday night's episode.

At the round table during that episode, Michael turned to James and quizzed him on the specifics of Ross Kemp's murder in plain sight, including how he knew about the deadly perfume bottle.

'I understand how you've put it all together,' James responded, adding: 'I can't really argue that it sounds feasible, and that sounds like it could have happened. I can promise you that I didn't spray him.'

Then, speaking to the group, he shockingly said: 'I just want to explain my situation. I was made a Traitor without wanting to be.

'I've had a unique experience on this that no one has had before, where I wanted to be a Faithful; that's all I wanted to be. I couldn't just go, 'Guys, it's me, vote for me.' But that's all I can do, really.'

Filming was paused as James became 'anxious' and had to gather himself before making his speech.

'The pressure got to him, and it was clear he was finding it difficult. Everyone agreed filming should be stopped before things got too heated,' one insider told the Daily Mail.

'Everyone was aware of the pressure getting to James throughout the series; it was difficult to watch him struggling.'

James received all of the votes, and before his exit told his fellow celebrities: 'When I came into this experience, I told Claudia that all I wanted to be was a Faithful and all I wanted to do was go round this castle and help the Faithfuls as much as possible, catching Traitors. I'm really proud to say that's what I've been able to do under the circumstances.

'I am, reluctantly, a Traitor,' he added, admitting a 'weight has been lifted off his shoulders'.
