Jake Quickenden's wife Sophie Church gives birth! Couple welcome a baby boy and reveal his adorable name in heartwarming video

Jake Quickenden and wife Sophie Church have welcomed their second child, a baby boy.

The former X Factor star, 36, took to Instagram on Friday morning to share an adorable video of the tot's arrival into the world and also revealed his name.

Captioning his post, proud dad Jake penned: 'Welcome to world little one. Kit Quickenden 6lb 13oz.

'Born 08/01/25 - As a dad I just want to say Sophie was incredible, thank you for delivering Kit and being so amazing. ❤️'.

The couple, who wed in 2022, are already parents to three-year-old son Leo, while they also raise Sophie's son Freddie from a previous relationship.

The sweet video sees baby Kit bundled up in a white towel and blue knitted hat while  mum Sophie, 31, cradles him in her arms.

She is then seen breastfeeding her newborn while enjoying a well-earned piece of toast. 

The thrilled parents are then seen doting on their little one as they clutched onto his hands before Jake proceeded to dress Kit.

The video later shows TV personality Jake shirtless as he rocked his son in his arms, with Jake no doubt preparing or having done some skin-to-skin time with his boy. 

The special post was met with a plethora of congratulatory messages from his fans and showbiz pals. 

Sophie and Jake previously revealed they were pregnant after a 'long time of trying' and took to Instagram with an emotional montage of the family learning the happy news.

Overcome with emotion he wiped tears from his eyes when he was told while pregnant Sophie presented their shocked sons with an Ultrasound scan.

The ex I'm A Caleb campmate captioned the post: 'WE HAVE NEWS…. soon to be five. We can finally let you know after a long time trying we are gonna bring another bundle of joy into the world'.

'We are super excited. Can’t wait to live off 2 hours sleep again. Have a lovely Sunday'.

The pair's baby joy comes months after Sophie was forced to defend herself after fans slammed her reaction to her unborn baby's gender reveal. 

The couple took to Instagram in August to share a video of them finding out the sex of their child by cutting into a cake dyed blue or pink.

The clip saw the X Factor star and his wife joined by their boys as they pushed champagne glasses into the icing.

They then revealed a blue cake inside, causing Jake to excitedly squeal: 'It's a brother it's a brother!'

But Sophie couldn't hide her disappointment and groaned: 'For God's sake. I knew it. Ah man, where are all the girls at?' 

While lots of fans were left in hysterics with her 'honest reaction' after discovering she would soon be outnumbered by boys, many were upset by her response, saying she should be happy to be having a healthy baby.

Jake hit back at several comments, with one person writing: '“For god sake” jeez count yourself lucky you can have kids. I’ve got 3 boys and wouldn’t swap them EVER!' and him responding: 'I dont think soph would want to swap them either!'

While he fumed at one follower who asked: 'Why post this? I've never seen someone look so unhappy..', commenting: 'really god you must live in tele tubby land or something then! She smiled the whole way through the video.'

Sophie later took to her Instagram to come to her own defense, writing that gender disappointment was valid and should be talked about more

She insisted that she was 'incredibly grateful' to be having another child, but admitted that she had 'always dreamed of having a daughter' and had been 'sad' not to have had a girl

He later added another comment on the post, penning: 'We are over the moon, as long as the little one is healthy and happy that’s all that matters, Soph would have liked a girl to back her up, but we are so used to boys and we couldn’t be happier,' 

'Can’t wait to see if he looks like Leo, can’t wait to watch Fred and Leo with him…. Now we need to get a name??'

Sophie later took to her Instagram to come to her own defense, writing that gender disappointment was valid and should be talked about more.

She insisted that she was 'incredibly grateful' to be having another child, but admitted that she had 'always dreamed of having a daughter'.

She confessed she had been 'sad' not to have had a girl to have been with for her wedding and 'girlie trips away', and added those feelings were okay.
