Many have suggested that Jake Paul is crazy for agreeing to a fight with former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson. However, Paul is a YouTuber-turned-professional boxer who has been eager to prove himself in the world of boxing over the last several years. While Paul has demonstrated his talent with several impressive knockouts against various opponents, Tyson is by far his most significant opponent yet. Tyson is one of the most notorious figures in boxing history, which makes this upcoming fight a major draw.

The boxing match between Paul and Tyson will take place at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas on November 15, 2024, and will be streamed globally on Netflix. Usually a premium event such as this would be behind a paywall on a streaming service, but Netflix streaming Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul is part of a strategy to implement more live events. This event is an exciting starting point for Netflix since it will feature Paul trying to best legendary boxer Tyson, who is fighting in his first non-exhibition match since 2005.

Mike Tyson Has Won 50 Boxing Matches Over His 39-Year Career

Tyson's Professional Boxing Record Is 50-6

Mike Tyson has won 50 matches throughout his boxing career, only losing 6 in the process. Out of his 50 wins, 44 have come via knockout, making Tyson one of the most ferocious fighters in boxing history. After years of fighting as an amateur, Tyson made his professional debut on March 6, 1985. In his first professional fight, he defeated Hector Mercedes by first-round TKO, immediately cementing himself as a fighter that should not be taken lightly.

Only a year later, Tyson fought Trevor Berbick for the World Boxing Council (WBC) heavyweight championship. Tyson knocked out Berbick in the second round and became the youngest heavyweight champion ever. Other notable matches from Tyson's career include his fight against Larry Holmes in 1988 and his two fights against Evander Holyfield in 1996 and 1997. In 2021, Tyson returned to the ring for an exhibition match against fellow boxing legend Roy Jones Jr., which ended in a draw. Now, Mike Tyson is coming out of retirement again to fight Jake Paul.

In 2018, Jake Paul and his brother, Logan Paul, were called out by social media influencer KSI. That same year, Jake Paul ended up fighting KSI's brother, Deji, in an exhibition match. This event started Paul's boxing journey, leading to him turning pro in 2020, and picking up his first win against influencer AnEsonGib. Because Paul was already a well-known figure before he began boxing, he has followed an untraditional career trajectory.
