Jaime Winstone 'devastated' as she's forced to pull out of this weekend's Strictly after tearing an abdominal muscle

Jaime Winstone won't perform on this weekend's Strictly after suffering an injury during training.

The actress, who has survived three dance offs on the show, has been advised by doctors to rest and, as a result, she will not dance in Saturday's live show.

In line with the rules of the show, Jaime and and her partner Carlos Gu will receive a bye through to next week when it is hoped they will be able to dance again. 

Jaime said in a statement on Wednesday: 'I am absolutely devastated not to be dancing this weekend due to a torn abdominal muscle. I am in considerable pain, and my doctors have advised complete rest to give my body the best possible chance to heal.'

'As frustrating as it is, I have to put my health first and follow their advice to step away from dancing this week.

'I love every moment of dancing and performing with Carlos, and I am praying for a speedy recovery so that I can continue this magical journey.

'I want to thank everyone for their incredible support so far. It means more than you know. Wishing everyone on the show all the luck, love and strength for Saturday night and I hope to be back on that dance floor very soon. With love, Jaime.'

Jaime and Carlos found themselves in another dance off during last Saturday's Strictly Halloween special.

The couple competed against  Bethany Antonia and Nancy Xu and Lawrence Robb and Jowita Przystal in the the show's first-ever three-couple dance-off.

Emmerdale actor Lawrence was voted off the show. 

Earlier this series Delta Goodrem was forced to miss one live show after she suffered a rib injury.

Insiders revealed that Delta injured herself during training but managed to perform her Salsa, which involved some complicated lifts, on the next live show, where she topped the leaderboard. 

Hours after performing Delta was taken to A&E after she struggled to sleep through the pain.
