Tavia Hunt, Wife of Chiefs Owner, Slams Rumors About Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce Wedding
Jaime King is shaking off any rumors about her friendship with Taylor Swift.
While the White Chicks actress was not seen attending the “Fortnight” singer and Travis Kelce’s wedding at New York City’s Madison Square Garden on July 3, she’s setting the record straight on where she stands with Swift, who is the godmother to her 10-year-old son Leo.
“The reason Jaime chose Taylor as Leo Thames’s godmother is because they both believe that being a godmother is a deeply personal and spiritual commitment that has nothing to do with public appearances,” King’s publicist, Jane Owen, told E! News in a statement July 9. “Leo Thames is still too young for a large adult wedding celebration, but he and his mother were able to joyfully celebrate Taylor and Kelce’s marriage in his own very special, age-appropriate way during his summer break.”
However, she did not specify what kind of big parties King, 47, and Swift, 36, enjoyed alongside her godson.
E! News has reached out to reps for Swift for comment but has not heard back.
The duo first became close after meeting at a Golden Globes party in 2014, with the Sin City actress asking Swift to be the godmother to her and ex-husband Kyle Newman’s son only one year later.

"I always thought if I were to have another child that she would be the ideal godmother because of the way she not only treats me but the way she treats other human beings," King told E! News in 2015. "She's so loving and so giving and so generous and she does everything from her heart and she's incredibly brave and authentic. It's a very rare thing to come across."
She added, "I know that [our baby] will always have a very good person and role model through her."
And Swift was equally enchanted, posting about her first visit with Leo in a since-deleted Instagram post in 2015, captioning the image of herself, King and Leo, "Meeting my boy.”
She also included a photo holding Leo’s hand, quoting her own song “Never Grow Up” and writing, “Your little hand's wrapped around my finger and it's so quiet in the world tonight.”

And while Swift and King haven’t appeared together in public in a number of years, the Hart of Dixie actress—who also shares son James, 12, with Newman—was truly overjoyed by Swift and Kelce’s love story, especially after they got engaged in August.
"I’m f--king stoked,” she told Us Weekly in November. “This is absolutely, this is the person. This is her person.”
She added, “I’m so happy.”
