Jack White's wife Olivia Jean files for divorce from the White Stripes artist citing 'inappropriate marital conduct'

Jack White has been served divorce papers by his estranged wife Olivia Jean, who says the rock star engaged in conduct that was 'inappropriate' by marital standards.

Jean, 36, filed legal docs in Tennessee this past June 3, listing that day as their split date, according to court records reviewed by TMZ.

Lawyers for Jean said in their filing, 'Wife would show that Husband is guilty of inappropriate marital conduct, which makes further cohabitation unsafe and improper.'

Jean said in legal docs that she was requesting spousal support, and to be listed on his policy for life insurance.

White and Jean, who were most recently pictured together two months ago in New York City, tied the knot in the middle of a show held at the Masonic Temple in Detroit in April of 2022.

The Daily Mail has reached out to representatives for both parties for further comment on the story.

The couple's nuptials came during a performance of the band's 2001 track Hotel Yorba, with White proposing to Jean, a fellow musician on the stage.

In the impromptu ceremony, White's mother and Jean's father had been on hand, the Detroit Free Press reported at the time. Their respective bassists served as the best man and maid of honor. 

Jean in July of 2022 told The New York Times about her onstage wedding, calling it 'the best experience of my life.'

She added, 'You could plan a wedding for five years and it wouldn't compare to that.'

Later that year, White named Jean as he and the White Stripes entered the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

In his acceptance speech at the November 2022 event, the musician thanked his parents and siblings 'for letting me make all that noise in the house all the time growing up.

'And I thank my children, Scarlett, Henry Lee, and my wife, Olivia Jean, for also pushing me to make all that noise in the house nowadays.'

Jean crossed paths with White through the music business, as she inked a contract in 2009 with his independent label Third Man Records. 

After she was the lead singer for The Black Belles, she ventured out as a solo artist. 

White in 2022 had told Rolling Stone that he experienced a spiritual change in the years of the COVID-19 pandemic.

'There’s been a complete rebirth on all levels of my life throughout the pandemic,' White told the publication. 'I made a goal to myself that no matter how long it lasted I was going to come out of it with a totally different scenario of looking at life.'

White was previously wed to musician Meg White, 51, from 1996 to 2000; and model Karen Elson, 47, from 2005-2013. They are parents to Scarlett Teresa White, 20, and Henry Lee White, 18.
