It has proven rather difficult to usurp Baldur's Gate 3 as one of gaming's greatest RPGs, both in part due to its excellent foundations and the numerous updates developer Larian Studios delivered post-launch. BG3 fans have enjoyed a slew of new content since the game released, and have, for the most part, not needed to turn to any direct competitor, despite the game being nearly three years old at this point. However, that support has long since dwindled, and while there are plenty of great mods to keep one busy, fans need something new to satiate their interests.

Of course, we've had new BG3 content as recently as July, so there's still related media, merch, and more coming out for Larian's magnum opus. Yet, there can definitely be more, and, fortunately, Larian isn't content resting on its laurels. More Baldur's Gate 3 content is on the way, and while it may not be quite in the way fans expect, there will be plenty who adore what the developer has cooking up. The only downside is that those desperate to get stuck into even more BG3 greatness will need to wait until 2027 to get their hands on it.

While many are likely hoping for a brand-new Baldur's Gate 3 expansion or even a new entry in the series, sadly, Larian has already confirmed that it isn't working on one. However, that isn't stopping the game from getting new content, as an exciting new piece of merchandise is releasing in 2027, potentially proving to be the perfect present for dedicated fans or simply those with an affinity for one of BG3's greatest characters.

Good Smile Company is set to release a brand-new Nendoroid figure of Baldur's Gate 3's lovable yet frequently disapproving companion, Shadowheart. The figure joins Astarion, who previously received a beloved chibi version of himself, as well as an additional Astarion Nendoroid scheduled to release in the future. Shadowheart's version comes in at just 3.94 inches, and has all the expected accompaniments, including face plates, accessories, and a base.

The figure, which is available via the official Good Smile Company website, is available for pre-order right now and will set prospective buyers back $43.99. It comes with the aforementioned figure, three different face plates (including a serious one, smiling one, and a glaring), Selûne's Spear of Night accessory, the Artifact accessory, a "Shadowheart disapproves." effect sheet, a base, and additional adjustable parts for the figure. It is set to arrive between July 1 and September 30, 2027.

Sure, another figure isn't quite the Baldur's Gate 3 spin-off or DLC that many may have been hoping for, but it is a great new addition to the already impressive suite of BG3 merch. For those who enjoy the Nendoroid series, or simply those eager to collect absolutely everything Baldur's Gate 3 related, the new Shadowheart figure is a great option for those with the disposable income. At the very least, one can always just stare lovingly at their new shiny figure until the next Baldur's Gate game comes out, or Larian's newest title ships.
