Is 'The Bear' Really Ending After Season 5? Jamie Lee Curtis Says...
Jamie Lee Curtis is certain that The Bear has always been slated to end after season five.
Indeed, the Oscar winner, who plays matriarch Donna Berzatto on the FX/Hulu hit show, shared the series is concluding after its upcoming fifth season—but she insisted the revelation isn’t new information.
“It is the end of the show,” Jamie told Entertainment Tonight in an interview published on March 3. “Everybody knows it’s the end of the show.”
“I’m not breaking any news to anybody,” the 67-year-old continued. “They've said it from the beginning. It's the end of the show. It's not me announcing any endings of anything. I do not [do that].”
Despite Jamie’s comments, FX/Hulu hasn’t made any official announcements about The Bear’s future. As for season five, no premiere date has been confirmed.
E! reached out to FX for comment.
The news wouldn’t come as a shock though, considering Jamie—who won an Emmy for playing Donna—recently implied the show was ending by commemorating her time on the culinary dramedy.

“FINISHED STRONG!” she wrote in a February Instagram post, which featured a photo of her and onscreen daughter Abby Elliott hugging on set. “Surrounded by an extraordinary crew and group of writers and producers and scene partners on the show that Chris Storer created, completing the story of this extraordinary family that we have all fallen in love with.”
In a sweet nod to Abby, the Halloween alum added, “Got to finish it out with my baby Berzatto bear, @lilcutieforever.”
Her post came seven months after The Bear—which also stars Jeremy Allen White, Ayo Edebiri, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Matty Matheson, Liza Colón-Zayas, Lionel Boyce and Molly Gordon—was renewed for a fifth season, just a month after season four debuted.
Over the years, the series has earned dozens of accolades, including 21 Emmy Awards and five Golden Globes awards. And that acclaim is something Jamie said she doesn’t take lightly.
“It’s a great show,” she told ET. “I feel very lucky to have been asked to be on it.”
While fans wait to see when the Berzatto family officially returns to screens, plenty of other television shows will be making their debut in 2026. Keep reading to see what else premieres this year…
