Amazon's Prime Day event happens twice a year, and it's definitely the best time to save on tech aside from the Black Friday/Cyber Monday weekend. During Prime Day, brands like Apple, Samsung, Amazon, and more are all heavily discounted... but how do you know if a deal is actually worth it?

I've been covering Prime Day for four years now, so I know a thing or two about what is a good deal versus what is just a discount you should hold off on. Using Camel Camel Camel, the extension that tracks Amazon's prices over time, I compared the lowest price, highest price, and current deal price of the following reader-favorite products over the past year. I also compared prices on brands' actual websites (since Amazon is rumored to show "fictional" list prices to make discounts seem better than they appear).

Here's what I found so you can save some money this Prime Day.

Prime Day deals actually worth buying

The Oura Ring 5 just came out, so the generation 4 is discounted this Prime Day. If you choose the Silver or Black colors, you'll save $123, and if you choose the Brushed Silver or Stealth colors, you'll get $173 off. Additionally, you can save $240 and pay only $249 for the Gold and Rose Gold models.

This is especially a good deal because on Oura's website, the best discount you can get is $244.30 (only $105 off).

Also: Amazon just cut the price of the Oura Ring to 44% off, the lowest ever - and I recommend it
