Investigation Discovery Sets ‘The Curious Case’ Spinoff Series As Natalia Grace Show Wraps Up

1 week ago 3

The Curious Case of Natalia Grace has been one of Investigation Discovery’s biggest break out hits over the last couple of years.

The true-crime series will wrap up its third season – The Final Chapter – in January and has set a spinoff series.

The Curious Case of Natalia Grace: The Final Chapter will premiere across two nights on January 6 and January 7.

Natalia Speaks followed Natalia Grace Barnett as she shares her story and confronts her former adoptive parents Michael and Kristine Barnett’s accusations head on. Picking up where the finale of the first installment left off, Natalia Speaks retraced her adoption saga and the Barnett’s allegations from Natalia’s perspective, offering insight into what really went on behind closed doors in the Barnett’s home.

ID launched The Curious Case of Natalia Grace in May 2023 and followed it up with Natalia Speaks earlier this month. The network said the two series reached more than 10 million viewers across linear and streaming.

The third season follows Grace’s abandonment by the Barnetts, being taken in by an entirely new family, the Manses, and subsequently embarking on a mission to reclaim her story. She is forced to navigate a number of seemingly insurmountable challenges. After the Manses phone call revealed a tense and potentially dangerous living environment for Natalia, the DePaul family launched a rescue mission to free her from the suffocating life with Bishop Antwon and Cynthia Mans. Confronted with the choice of staying or leaving her home with the Manses, Natalia must work to build a new life for herself while also healing from the emotional turmoil caused by both the Manses and the Barnetts.

Following The Final Chapter, ID will launch The Curious Case Of…, a six-part spinoff series that features legal analyst Beth Karas, who appeared on the Grace series. It will launch on January 13.

Both shows are produced by Hot Snakes Media.
