Indy Clinton's dog hospitalised after eating cannabis gummies at beach: 'Aloha went to the moon today!'

Indy Clinton has revealed that her beloved pet dog was recently hospitalised after accidentally consuming an ingredient found in medicinal cannabis.

The Australian influencer, 28, recently shared a series of posts on social media saying that her golden retriever Aloha had inadvertently eaten something at a beach, which was later found to contain tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), an active ingredient in marijuana.

'Aloha went to the moon today! He's okay now, just had some munchies. He ate someone's poo at the beach/sand dunes. HUMAN POO. So gross, man. But it had gummies in it, so he got high from eating,' Indy began.

'The vet gave him something to vomit it out. They said this is becoming more common.' 

In Australia, THC-containing 'gummies' edibles are a form of medicinal cannabis and can only legally be accessed with a prescription from a registered medical practitioner. 

Indy added that her dog had displayed symptoms consistent with THC consumption.

'The vet legitimately thinks he may be stoned. This is not the response I was thinking I was gonna get,' she said. 

Fortunately, the veterinarian was able to help her dog recover, with Indy adding she could 'laugh about it now'. 

In July 2024, Indy sparked a debate after admitting she planned to rehome her kelpie, Billy, after he nipped one of her children. 

In an Instagram Stories post, Indy asked what her followers would do in the same situation. 

'What if you always trusted this dog 110 percent around your kids but one day things changed,' she began. 

'Then one night the dog is inside because it's cold, your child pats the dog like any child should be able to pat the family dog, and the dog reacts and nips him,' the TikTok star continued. 

'So in my head hypothetically speaking I would only allow that once; it's once and the dog is gone. 

'You can go get rehomed. You can go to another family that doesn't have kids. But when push comes to shove, that's quite a hard situation. 

'That's quite a hard decision to make, so if anyone were in this situation, what would you do with your dog? Would you never give it another chance? Would you separate it for good, and it has no quality of life? Do you chain it up downstairs?'

Indy later admitted that she had plans to rehome Billy but backed out, and instead decided to get a second dog as a 'friend' for the older animal to calm him down, which is why she got her golden retriever.
