Industry star Myha'la says she's reluctant to her kiss co-stars on set after exchanging vows with husband Armando Rivera last year.

The actress, who plays Harper Stern in the hit HBO drama, has been involved in some of the show's raunchiest scenes - including threesomes and more recently a graphic scene involving a sex toy.

But after she secretly married partner Rivera in 2025, Myha'la, 29, believes kissing is 'sacred'.

She told The Independent: 'It was so bizarre... I've always been open and willing to try things [on set], a kiss is a kiss. I'm usually really good at compartmentalising that this is work.'

'Maybe there was something that felt sacred about kissing, like no one else can have a kiss from me.'

Myha'la previously said that now she is married she expects there will be more things she will say no to in intimacy scenes.

She told Glamour Magazine: '[Kissing] was really strange, the first time I had an intimacy scene after I got engaged, I didn't want to kiss the person.

'I was absolutely getting my cheeks clapped, but I was like, "No kissing!"'

The actress also shared she has strict boundaries for how she is filmed in intimacy scenes in order to protect herself.

'If I'm in motion, I say no to a wide shot that includes my head and feet – top to tail – in the same frame. I also say no to shooting pubic hair.'

Myha'la added she is grateful for the recent introduction of intimacy coordinators to the industry as it has given her the freedom to make her own choices.

The show has been dubbed the 'raunchiest on TV,' where financial machinations is followed at night by hard partying involving Champagne, cocaine, pills and random sex. As one critic put it, they were ‘banking all day and banging all night’.

Earlier this month the star revealed she and Armando had married by sharing snaps from their nuptials on Instagram, and wrote in the caption that only close friends and family knew they had tied the knot.

After Myha'la secretly tied the knot with her partner Armando Rivera last year, she said in a new interview that kissing is 'sacred' (the couple seen in January)

The star opted for an elegant white lace midi dress as she posed with her husband, exchanging their vows in a low-key ceremony after five years together.

She captioned the post: 'One year of marriage. Sos if this is how you're finding out, promise we didn't tell most everyone.

'Speedy officiating by @jojoplutz Endlessly grateful to our friends and family for helping make this day so very magical.'

Many of her celebrity pals were quick to share their appreciation, with her co-star Marisa Abela saying: 'It's so mum and dad, it's crazy.'

Myha'la had previously revealed she and Armando met when he sent her an Instagram DM during lockdown.

During an appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers in 2024, she explained that pandemic restrictions left her with time to scroll through her Instagram, and she came across a message from her now-husband congratulating her on Industry's debut.

While she replied with a simple thank-you, she shared that she then woke up to a series of video messages from Rivera, and while she was hesitant to open them, she found him 'kind of cute' when she checked out his profile.

In his videos, Armando explained he wanted to interview Myha'la for his journalism project, and when she accepted, what was meant to be a 10-minute chat on Zoom turned into a full 40 minutes.

'We hop off, and I was like, 'Oh, I'm in love with a stranger. How weird,' she said. She said that she followed up a few days later, and Armando asked for her number.

Myha'la said that they enjoyed a string of Facetime dates before finally meeting in person in early 2021, telling W Magazine: 'He was at school in San Francisco, and I'm from San Jose, which is just a 50-minute drive.

Myha'la described their first time holding hands as 'otherworldly', and said they became 'inseparable from then on.'
