Ryan O'Rourke is a Senior News Writer at Collider with a specific interest in all things adult animation, video game adaptations, and the work of Mike Flanagan. He is also an experienced baseball writer with over six years of articles between multiple outlets, most notably FanSided's CubbiesCrib. Whether it's taking in a baseball game, a new season of Futurama or Castlevania: Nocturne, or playing the latest From Software title, he is always finding ways to show his fandom. When it comes to gaming and anything that takes inspiration from it, he is deeply opinionated on what's going on. Outside of entertainment, he's a graduate of Eureka College with a Bachelor's in Communication where he honed his craft as a writer. Between The IV Leader at Illinois Valley Community College and The Pegasus at Eureka, he spent the majority of his college career publishing articles on everything from politics to campus happenings and, of course, entertainment for the student body. Those principles he learned covering the 2020 election, Palestine, and so much more are brought here to Collider, where he has gleefully written on everything from the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes to Nathan Lane baby-birding sewer boys.

Not even time can keep besties Nicola Coughlan and Lydia West away from each other. After nearly two years of waiting for more of Channel 4 and Tubi's acclaimed comedy-drama Big Mood, Season 2 is finally right around the corner with a reunion in store for the starring duo following that emotional Season 1 finale. When last viewers saw the duo together, West's Eddie was speeding off in a taxi without a word for Maggie, the longtime friend she had once been inseparable from for over ten years, played by the Bridgerton star. Before she returns to town, though, Collider can exclusively reveal one new face who will be entering the duo's lives this spring — Rupert Everett.

A British acting icon with three BAFTA nominations to his name, Everett is a big-ticket addition to Maggie and Eddie's world. He remains best known among audiences for his role as George Downes, the friend that Julia Roberts' Julianne Potter fakes an engagement with in the rom-com classic My Best Friend's Wedding. His other two BAFTA-recognized turns in 1984's Another Country and 2020's Adult Material have further cemented him as an enduring on-screen talent across over four decades on-screen. Big Mood marks his latest television role after joining the upcoming second season of the sizzling drama Rivals and Netflix's Emily in Paris. Accompanying his addition, we also have two new images of his character dazzling in a stylish fur coat and hanging with London's diverse drag community.

Everett is the latest addition to a Season 2 that's injecting a ton of talent. Headlining the newcomers is Belgravia: The Next Chapter star Hannah Onslow, who will be annoying Maggie as Eddie's new, maddeningly positive spiritual healer friend Whitney, alongside Robert Lindsay, Marina Bye, Marcus Collins, Munroe Bergdorf, Kyran Thrax, Kelly Campbell, Leo Wan, Zachary Hart, and John Locke. West and Coughlan, who recently reprised her role as Penelope Bridgerton in Season 4 of Netflix's mega-hit period romance, will lead a returning cast including Robert Gilbert, Eamon Farren, Niamh Cusack, Amalia Vitale, Luke Fetherston, Rebecca Lowman, Stephen Sobal, and Kate Fleetwood. Series writer and creator Camilla Whitehill and director Rebecca Asher are also back in the fold, keeping the creative team that crafted the BAFTA-nominated hit around for another run.

How Does Maggie and Eddie's Story Continue in 'Big Mood' Season 2?

Season 2 of Big Mood picks up one year after the Season 1 finale, with both friends not having seen or spoken to each other since. Eddie suddenly returns to London for a wedding, and this time, Whitney is by her side. For Maggie, this new companion is just more competition for Eddie's attention and affection. Determined to carve a spot out in her bestie's life once more, she brings her own unique brand of chaos back to the table, setting up more darkly comedic misadventures between them. The question is: Will it be enough to win her old friend back over, or are these two through for good? Given Maggie's struggles with her bipolar disorder last season and the diverging paths the two women have gone down with their careers and personal lives since the series began, she may ultimately have to face the reality that they should just move on from each other.

Big Mood returns for Season 2 on Tubi and Channel 4 this spring. In the meantime, all six episodes of Season 1 are available to stream for free on Tubi right now.
