There's plenty of speculation that a live-action Star Wars: The Clone Wars TV show could be coming, and this compilation of fan reactions to Hayden Christensen and Ewan McGregor's flashback scene in Obi-Wan Kenobi is proof it would be incredible. The Clone Wars continues to be considered one of Star Wars' best TV shows. Even as Star Wars movies and TV shows have expanded considerably since The Clone Wars aired, the characters and stories of The Clone Wars (and the prequel trilogy) remain fan favorites.

The video, posted by tonyc_official on TikTok, combines fan reactions to Hayden Christensen and Ewan McGregor's returns as Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi in Obi-Wan Kenobi. Specifically, the video shows fan responses to the flashback sequence in the show, in which Christensen and McGregor are de-aged and Anakin and Obi-Wan engage in a training session.

The fanfare around these flashback sequences makes one thing clear: many fans would be absolutely ecstatic if rumors and speculation about a possible live-action Clone Wars show proved true.

Plenty Of Nostalgia Remains For The Prequel Trilogy And The Clone Wars

It's clear throughout this video that Star Wars audiences still have an emotional connection to the prequel characters, Anakin and Obi-Wan in particular. Part of what gave this scene such an impact is the nostalgia, although these flashbacks also gave viewers a bit of closure that wasn't expected. While it couldn't ameliorate the damage done between Anakin and Obi-Wan, of course, this scene gave audiences something almost as good.

These flashback scenes in Obi-Wan Kenobi offered viewers another look at Anakin and Obi-Wan during the prequel trilogy era, with McGregor and Christensen returning to their respective roles. Prior to the show, this hadn't seemed like something that would (or could) ever happen. With how creative Star Wars has become with de-aging technology, though, so much more is possible—and that could mean some major Star Wars rumors may come true.

Could Star Wars Really Be Gearing Up For A Live-Action Clone Wars Show?

While a live-action Clone Wars show once felt like a pipe dream, it seems increasingly possible of late. Not only has de-aging technology in Star Wars come quite a long way since Luke Skywalker appeared in The Mandalorian season 2 ending, but also, Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen have already indicated they are open to returning to Star Wars. The most surprising news of all has been that Natalie Portman is now heavily rumored to be in talks with Lucasfilm about returning to Star Wars as well.

This, combined with the fact that Ariana Greenblatt already played the role of young Ahsoka Tano brilliantly in Ahsoka, means that Star Wars very well may have all it needs for a full-fledged live-action Clone Wars show. Whether Star Wars would really make such a show may be another question entirely, but hopes remain high. Clearly, based on these fan reactions to Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen's appearances in Obi-Wan Kenobi, there would be plenty of excitement about a live-action Star Wars: The Clone Wars show.
