As someone who's covered the home space for a while now, I know what makes a good couch and which materials raise red flags. Still, there's always a little give and take (think: not the plushest cushions, but super durable performance fabric). Living in a city apartment, I'm not necessarily hunting for a forever piece. Honestly, a high-end sofa probably wouldn't even make it up my tiny staircase — let alone feel right in a smaller space.

I knew exactly what I needed: a compact sectional that's easy to clean, stylish (because yes, that matters), and affordable — at least by couch standards. After being served what felt like a million Instagram and TikTok ads, I landed on the Cozey Ciello Sofa ($1,495). One year in, it's checked every box — and then some.

What I Like About the Cozey Ciello Sectional

Main Image

At first glance, this couch reminded me of the ever-popular Cloud Couch design — but for way less. It was an affordable way to get the look, and lo and behold, it's become a staple in my apartment. I purchased the sectional in the Sunset Beige performance fabric, and while it's definitely an off-white shade that looks like it would show dirt and stains easily, it's held up surprisingly well. I've spilled wine, food, and probably everything else under the sun on it, and everything has come out with a quick spot clean — or, if needed, a toss in the wash.

Not only is the performance fabric a winner, but the size and cushions are, too. It fits four friends and me comfortably (I could probably squeeze in five if I really wanted to), and it's not one of those awkwardly small couches that make my burly dad look comically oversized. Yes, it fits him, too. The cushions are made of a soft foam blend, which likely helps keep the cost down — but I don't mind. They're super comfortable, and I doubt most people would notice the difference.

What's Worth Noting About the Cozy Ciello Sectional

This sofa arrives in multiple packages over several days, which is great if you're hauling them up stairs — but be warned: you'll definitely want help. I think I received about 10 boxes total, and they completely took over my dining area. Make sure you have a clear space to store them during setup.

Also, while the sofa features performance fabric, only the cushion covers are removable and washable — not the arms or backrest — so those areas are more susceptible to staining. One other thing to note: while I like the soft foam blend, the back cushions tend to bunch up and lose their shape over time. The seat cushions don't have this issue, so I'm guessing a less supportive fill was used in the back. It's not a deal-breaker, but it's definitely worth mentioning.

Who Is the Cozey Ciello Sectional Best For?

If you're someone who's looking for a stylish, comfortable, and functional sofa without the high-end price tag, I'd recommend Cozey's Ciello. While it's probably not an heirloom piece, it's perfect for apartment living, frequent hosting, households with pets or kids, or anyone who wants an affordable yet design-forward couch. I'd imagine its look would blend well with a variety of aesthetics, too. It's the kind of sofa you can stretch out and nap on (trust me — I have, many times) or cozy up on for a movie night. If you're looking for a larger sectional, Cozey makes the Ciello in an extra large size.

Is the Cozey Ciello Sectional Worth the Splurge?

Based on my experience with this couch, I'd say it's definitely worth it. I've gotten out tough stains, hosted parties where it fit five to six people, and taken multiple naps that put me into a deep, deep sleep (in the best way). I also really appreciate the optional ottoman with built-in storage — I've stuffed it with plenty of blankets and pillows. It's been a surprisingly useful addition that doubles as extra seating and blends in seamlessly with the rest of the sofa.
