Hyperion DeFi reported record second-quarter net income of $31 million, more than triple the $8.8 million recorded in the first quarter, as gains from its HYPE treasury rose sharply.
The Nasdaq-listed company recorded $54.8 million in treasury gains for the quarter ended June 30, up from $21.5 million in the prior quarter. Adjusted EBITDA increased to $53.7 million from $19.5 million.
GAAP gross profit rose to $357,693 from $244,271, while adjusted gross profit increased 20% quarter over quarter to $1.15 million. Staking yield contributed $527,000, up 69%, and yield-enhancement activities generated $334,000, up 58%. DeFi monetization contributed $158,000, ecosystem rewards added $90,000, and validator commissions totaled $42,000.
Hyperion held 2.04 million HYPE tokens at June 30. Based on a quarter-end HYPE price of $65, gross HYPE holdings were valued at $132.6 million, up from $71 million at the end of the first quarter. Net asset value reached $134.2 million, compared with $69.9 million three months earlier, while cash, cash equivalents and stablecoins totaled $11.8 million.
The company earned 11,115 HYPE through staking and validating during the quarter, with half of adjusted gross profit received in cash. Selling, general and administrative expenses fell to $3.9 million from $4.5 million, while operating expenses excluding stock-based compensation declined to $2.3 million from $3 million. Adjusted operating cash use improved to $2.1 million from $2.6 million.
Hyperion said it signed an agreement with Entropy for HAUS, an upcoming HIP-3 deployer, and has redeployed 1 million HYPE tokens since June to support HIP-3 and HIP-4 activity. The company also completed the sale of its remaining legacy life-sciences intellectual property to Arctic Vision in July.
HYPD shares rose 3.49% to $2.784 in after-hours trading as of 4:46 p.m. ET Wednesday, after closing the regular session 1.89% higher at $2.69.
