Hunter X Hunter chapter #405 will be released on November 4, 2024, in Weekly Shonen Jump issue #49. It will be available to read internationally on Manga Plus and the Shonen Jump app on November 4 at 8:00 AM Pacific Standard Time, 3:00 PM Greenwich Time, 11:00 AM Eastern Standard Time, and 10:00 AM Central Standard Time. To celebrate the return of the manga, the last 10 chapters are free to read on Manga Plus, whereas it would usually be the last 3 chapters.

The chapter begins with Zhang-Lei and Kurapika talking about his Nen Beast and using the clues from the coins to decipher its ability. Kurapika concluded that the Nen Beast allows those who have possessed the coin for a long time to open up their nodes and potentially acquire a Nen ability. However, he also theorized that the person would be manipulated to be loyal to Zhang-Lei, but Kurapika held back this part of his deduction. Meanwhile, Halkenburg's body was rushed to the hospital by Cheadle, Leorio, who appeared in the manga for the first time in years in a blink-and-you'll-miss-it cameo, and other paramedics.

Halkenburg, who is now possessing Balsamilco's body, figures out the details to his ability and reveals that if his original body dies, Balsamilco will gain dominance again, but he has a clever trick to delay this in order to infiltrate Benjamin's faction. The clock was ticking, and when Halkenburg's body died, his mission started. Elsewhere, Tsseriednich was more focused on his training and was making incredible progress.

With Halkenburg's body now deceased, Balsamilco, who is under Halkenburg's control, can freely return to Benjamin's room after clearing himself of any suspicion. Halkenburg is fully intent on killing Benjamin since he is the most dangerous one in the race, and he also wants to win the war. However, since his body is dead, how he plans to continue participating is unknown, and he might have a way to go back to his body.

The Phantom Troupe plot line is finally back, and Nobunaga's suspicions about the mafia families might take an interesting turn if his hunch is right. Furthermore, he said that they would have to gather the other members depending on the mafias' answers, so it is definitely something huge. The Phantom Troupe is back, and they returned with an interesting development that could change the arc.
