EXCLUSIVE: Sarah Pender, who was convicted of murdering her two roommates in 2000, kicked off a nationwide manhunt eight years later when she escaped from Rockville Correctional Facility.

The story is now set to be told in a three-part docuseries – Girl on the Run: The Hunt for America’s Most Wanted Woman – for Hulu and Pender is telling her side of the story.

Pender was sentenced to over 100 years for the murder of Andrew Cataldi and Tricia Nordman for her role in the killings by her former boyfriend, who pleaded guilty, and was housed in a maximum-security prison in Indiana. But with the help of a prison guard and former cellmate, she managed to escape and stay on the run for months.

She relied on a network of trusted ex-cons and a new boyfriend but after a repeat of America’s Most Wanted, a neighbor finally called the police.

The series, which premieres on February 19, will feature an exclusive interview with Pender, who maintains her innocence, as well as accounts from the law enforcement officer who led the pursuit, Pender’s parents, former inmates from Indiana Women’s Prison and Pender’s ex-boyfriend Rick, who is still serving time in prison for the double murders.

It is produced by Plum Pictures, the British production company that was behind Hulu’s Mr. & Mrs. Murder, and ABC News Studios. Sebastian Smith directs, Stuart Cabb and Tom Pearson are executive producers for Plum Pictures, and ABC News Studios’ David Sloan is senior executive producer, and Beth Hoppe is executive producer.
