Chris is a Senior News Writer for Collider. He can be found in an IMAX screen, with his eyes watering and his ears bleeding for his own pleasure. He joined the news team in 2022 and accidentally fell upwards into a senior position despite his best efforts.
For reasons unknown, he enjoys analyzing box office receipts, giant sharks, and has become known as the go-to man for all things Bosch, Mission: Impossible and Christopher Nolan in Collider's news division. Recently, he found himself yeehawing along to the Dutton saga on the Yellowstone Ranch.
He is proficient in sarcasm, wit, Photoshop and working unfeasibly long hours. Amongst his passions sit the likes of the history of the Walt Disney Company, the construction of theme parks, steam trains and binge-watching Gilmore Girls with a coffee that is just hot enough to scald him.
His obsession with the Apple TV+ series Silo is the subject of mockery within the Senior News channel, where his feelings about Taylor Sheridan's work are enough to make his fellow writers roll their eyes.
A brand-new chapter connected to The Handmaid's Tale is officially on the way, and the first look has just arrived. Hulu has released the trailer for The Testaments, the upcoming sequel series inspired by the novel from Margaret Atwood. The new series will premiere April 8 with its first three episodes, followed by weekly releases.
The story centers on two young women — Agnes and Daisy — whose lives collide in a society where obedience is enforced through religion, power, and fear. Agnes is raised inside Gilead and groomed to become the perfect future wife, while Daisy arrives from outside the regime and must adapt to a world governed by strict rules and constant surveillance.
The cast includes The Handmaid’s Tale‘s Emmy-winning star Ann Dowd, reprising her role of Aunt Lydia, alongside the new cast of One Battle After Another's breakout star Chase Infiniti, Lucy Halliday, Mabel Li, Amy Seimetz, Brad Alexander, Rowan Blanchard, Mattea Conforti, Zarrin Darnell-Martin, Eva Foote, Isolde Ardies, Shechinah Mpumlwana, Birva Pandya and Kira Guloien. Here is the official logline for The Testaments:
“An evolution of The Handmaid’s Tale, The Testaments is based on Margaret Atwood’s novel of the same name and is a dramatic coming-of-age story set in Gilead. The series follows young teens Agnes, dutiful and pious, and Daisy, a new arrival and convert from beyond Gilead’s borders. As they navigate the gilded halls of Aunt Lydia’s elite preparatory school for future wives, a place where obedience is instilled brutally and always with divine justification, their bond becomes the catalyst that will upend their past, their present, and their future.”
Is 'The Handmaid's Tale' Worth Watching?
Collider’s review written by Jeff Ewing stated that The Handmaid’s Tale Season 6 delivers a powerful and timely conclusion, combining sharp political commentary with some of the series’ strongest performances — even if a few narrative beats stumble along the way.
With Season 6, The Handmaid's Tale is a masterclass in how to end a sharp, politically imperative show in times of moral crisis. It pulls no punches, never hesitates, and has perfect clarity about where it's going and why. These facets make for a strong finale, as do its thoughtful character development, great action, and gorgeous visuals.
The Testaments debuts April 8 with three episodes, then releases new episodes weekly on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+ for bundle subscribers.
