Hull City faces Aston Villa after over £150M summer spending spree

Hull’s big-money gamble on survival

That single transaction anchored a summer of sales that brought in more than £313 million total, giving Emery a war chest while also helping the club comply with a UEFA settlement agreement that had been hanging over their finances.

Nicolas Jackson and Ibrahim Mbaye headline a 10-player intake designed to refresh the squad. Villa are still searching for their first points of the season after losing both opening fixtures.

A meeting years in the making

This is the first time these two clubs have faced each other in the Premier League since the 2018/19 season.

MKM Stadium will be Hull’s first Premier League home match of the new season. Tickets for visiting Villa fans are priced at £30 for standard adult seats.
