Hulk isn't just one of the strongest Avengers, but is unrivaled in the Marvel Universe in terms of sheer power, with his might on the battlefield often acting as the tipping point for whichever conflict Earth’s heroes currently find themselves in. Capable of feats that put gods to shame, one such achievement proved once and for all whether Hulk can break, bend, or crack adamantium, with the answer coming in the form of multiple comic stories that show him directly interacting with this versatile and durable metal.
Holding his own against the likes of Juggernaut, Abomination, The Thing, Sentry, and even the entire Avengers team, Hulk isn’t the kind of character to take lightly, with his unbeatable brawn linked to the furious rage that constantly boils within him.
In Incredible Hulk #300, along with two other examples from the Green Goliath’s long and storied history, Hulk settles whether he can unequivocally damage adamantium with a test of power that sees him crack a statue made completely out of the material, proving that Hulk can indeed break and even bend adamantium if he puts enough effort into it.
Yes, Hulk Can Bend & Even Crack Adamantium With His Bare Hands
Incredible Hulk #300 - 1984 (Bill Mantlo and Sal Buscema) and World War Hulk #3 - 2007 (Greg Pak and John Romita Jr.)
Separated from Bruce Banner at the time, this issue follows Hulk as he’s hunted down by the authorities and Avengers alike. Stronger and more irritable than usual, Hulk can’t stop smashing things, with his destructive actions eventually leading to a 1v1 brawl against the God of Thunder himself, Thor. Sent hurtling into an adamantium statue in the likeness of his hulking self, the sheer force of Hulk’s mass hitting the sculpture ends up cracking it, with the Jade Giant’s renewed anger seeing him grab the statue by its base and, as he hoists it above his head, fracture it further.

Move Over, Adamantium: Hulk Finally Discovers an Unbreakable Metal Stronger Than His Muscles
The Hulk has tangled with adamantium that's been weaponized against him (primarily by Wolverine), and now, he's found a metal that's even stronger.
Soon disarmed by Thor thanks to a well-aimed Mjolnir, this story shows how Hulk has the power to damage adamantium no matter what form it takes, with this comic-exclusive moment referenced once again in World War Hulk #3, where in a flashback sequence, Hulk’s epic battle with Thor is revisited. Depicting the same statue that Hulk nearly destroyed in Incredible Hulk #300, the narration by General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross confirms that the statue was made with “ten tons of pure adamantium,” with the next panel showing Hulk, like before, using the cracked effigy as a weapon to attack Thor with.
Hulk Has Proved Multiple Times That He Can Bend Adamantium Through Brute Strength
Marvel Team-Up #18 - 1973 (Len Wein and Gil Kane)
Furthermore, in Marvel Team-Up #18, Hulk and Human Torch fight the villain Blastaar, with Torch eventually telling Hulk to grab some nearby adamantium rubble from their battle to encase him in. Instructing Hulk to squeeze the metal around Blastaar as best he can since “…the thicker the adamantium shielding, the better chances of it holding Blastaar,” Hulk does as he’s told, defeating Blastaar bolstered by the sturdiness of adamantium. Through these stories and more, it’s shown time and time again that Hulk can bend and break adamantium with his bare hands and if pushed to it likely destroy it, too.
