Hugh Jackman labelled an 'Aussie spunk' as he strips off to flaunt his rugged good looks in the pool - and it drives his fans wild

Hugh Jackman sent his fans into a frenzy on Monday when he stripped off his shirt to go for a swim in the pool.

The Hollywood hunk, 56, was all smiles as he shared a very handsome selfie to Instagram, giving a tantalising peek at his bulging shoulder muscles.

Revealing that he was enjoying the summer sun back home in Australia, the Wolverine star appeared completely drenched in water after going for a dip.  

'Gotta love December in Oz,' he captioned the snap which saw him leaning against the side of the pool.

His heart-eyed fans flocked to the comments to bombard the award-winning actor with compliments over his rugged good looks.   

'Oh Hugh you big Aussie spunk. So good to have you home in Sydney for Christmas, how good is the weather, Aussie cricket and Tennis,' one person wrote.

'Today is a good day cause we got a HUGH SELFIE,' another said.

A third added, 'I WOULD PROTECT YOU WITH MY LIFE,' while someone else commented: 'Ohhhh Mamma.'

'I want you,' and, 'Sir looking fine as always,' were other messages left by followers. 

It's not the first time Hugh has sent his online fans into a frenzy in recent weeks, as some followers got excited over a hidden clue in one of his more recent photos. 

The Hollywood actor is currently in Sydney with his children, Oscar, 24, and Ava, 19, and is catching up with several Aussie friends in a long-awaited reunion.

Last Saturday, the Wolverine star shared a series of photos from his Sydney Harbour cruise, as well as a few other moments from his time Down Under.

But one picture caught the attention of several fans who noticed a woman in the reflection of his sunglasses during his boat day.

'Who's the woman on your sunglasses?' one follower asked.

'I did the very same,' one user replied, while another added. 'You've got good eye spy skills!'

The woman in question is likely one of Hugh's friends or the wife of one of his mates who joined him on the boat.

While some fans suggested it may have been the Broadway star's rumoured girlfriend Sutton Foster, though it was confirmed she was in Los Angeles at the time. 

Michael Ryan, Hugh's best friend and personal trainer, accompanied the Greatest Showman star and his two kids on the fun day out.

The trainer's sister was on the boat, as was another woman wearing a wide-brimmed hat—who took the photos of Hugh.

It's likely it could have been Michael's wife, Zoe Bingley-Pullin, who snapped the Aussie hunk. However, it is unclear if she joined the group.
