How to win a chess match against the Royal Envoy in The Sims 4

A regal event has taken over The Sims 4 to complement the arrival of the Royalty & Legacy expansion pack. This event has many different missions for you to tackle, like winning a chess match against the Royal Envoy.

Most of the quests you need to work through don’t give you much guidance, so even if they sound easy at first, they can be deceptively difficult to actually get done. If this one has you stumped, here’s how to win a chess match against the Royal Envoy in The Sims 4.

To complete the win a chess match against the Royal Envoy quest in the Lost Legacies event, you need to meet up with the Royal Envoy at Magnolia Blossom Park and play chess against her until you are victorious. There are a few steps to this process, so here’s how to get it done.

• Travel to Magnolia Blossom Park. This is the massive 50×50 lot located near the middle of Willow Creek, just north of the community establishments like the Willow Creek Archive and the Municipal Muses Museum. If you replaced this lot with another location, it’s best to either place the original park down or try this mission in a different save, as you may have trouble progressing otherwise.
• Call the Royal Envoy to the lot if she’s not there already. The Royal Envoy may already be there waiting for you when you arrive, but if not, use one of the methods for summoning her. My go-to is to click on my Sim and choose the “Call Envoy to current lot” option.
• Find and click on an empty chess table. There are quite a few of them placed around the middle of this lot.
• Choose the “Play with…” option. From the menu that appears on the chess table, select the “Play with…” option to view all eligible candidates.
• Select the Royal Envoy as your opponent. Look for her in the pop-up that follows. Her name here will be Marina Corsair rather than the Royal Envoy.
• Repeat this process until you win. Keep starting new chess games against the Royal Envoy until you manage to beat her at the game. You might do so on the first try, or it may instead take a couple of attempts.

How to find the Royal Envoy in The Sims 4

There are a few different methods you can use to find the Royal Envoy, but unfortunately, she’s also a very buggy character, so it’s possible none of them work properly. Here are all of the ways you can call this NPC to your location and what to do if she refuses to show up.

• Look around to see if she’s already nearby. She shows up on her own for many missions throughout the Lost Legacies event, so there’s always a chance she’s already wandering around in the same neighborhood.
• Click on your Sim and select the “Call Envoy to current lot” option. If she doesn’t seem to be present, click on your Sim and choose this option to have her spawn nearby. She won’t pop up right next to you when this option is used, but she will appear somewhere near the edge of your current lot.
• Use your phone to call her up. Click on your Sims phone, select the Social app, choose the “Chat with…” option, and select the Royal Envoy, also known as Marina Corsair.
• Locate the Royal Envoy in your Relationships panel and select the “Focus camera” option. If you don’t see an option to call her to the lot, it’s likely because she’s already nearby. Finding her can be tough, but as long as you already know her, you can focus the camera on her exact location by clicking on her in the Relationships panel. Her real name is Marina Corsair, so this is what she’ll be listed as on this page.

Once summoned, the Royal Envoy can take a bit to actually appear on the lot. Sometimes she spawns in right away, while other times you may need to let the game run for a bit before she arrives at the lot.

If none of these methods work, start by trying to travel to another lot, then back again to the right location. Use the same methods to summon her and see if things work this time around. If she still refuses to appear, restart your game entirely and give it a go again.
