What to expect at BlizzCon 2026
Image: Blizzard EntertainmentBlizzard will likely lead with plenty of announcements about World of Warcraft: Midnight. The current expansion was released earlier this year, and now is the time to reveal where upcoming patches will take the evolving story. Fans can hope for news on the next expansion, The Last Titan, but it isn't a sure thing. The expansion is set to conclude the Worldsoul Saga, which includes The War Within and Midnight. Blizzard typically doesn't announce new expansions the same year the current expansion releases, and there were two years between The War Within and Midnight. So don't get too excited.
One or two new heroes are sure to be announced for Overwatch. Blizzard promised that 10 new heroes would be released this year, leaving two still missing in action. Expect an official reveal. As far as Diablo 4 is concerned, expect some updates, but with an expansion having been released just this year, it probably won't be anything big.
All eyes, however, are on StarCraft. Reports claim that Blizzard is making a deal with Korean publisher Nexon to develop a new entry in the series. Following these rumors, Blizzard began teasing news by hiding messages on the game's official website. This could be a new mainline RTS game or the rumored shooter that is in the works. You'll have to tune in to find out.
