For the second year in a row, butter yellow has disrupted Pantone's Color of the Year with its worldwide domination. Like most trends that make a seemingly random appearance in our social media feeds, butter yellow isn't exactly new. Last year, we saw its meteoric rise to the forefront of the sartorial food chain as cosigned by designers and celebrities alike. Bottega Veneta and JW Anderson decorated their Spring 2024 runways with the beige-leaning yellow debuting unconventional dresses and tops, and Toteme and Alaïa have confirmed its staying power with their 2025 collections. Meanwhile, stars like Rihanna, Hailey Bieber, and most recently, Timothée Chalamet have given their stamp of approval on the luxurious hue. The trend has even made its way to the beauty front with "butter nails," seen on the likes of Selena Gomez. And of course, a five-minute scroll on TikTok will let you know butter yellow is indeed in.

What Is the Butter Yellow Trend?

While the color is pretty self-explanatory, butter yellow is a creamy shade of the hue, highly reminiscent of butter. Think of it as yellow's more mature big sister that you can wear with almost anything. It's even graduated to neutral status, becoming a staple in not only fashion and beauty pieces, but also the world of home decor. "Yellow has been gaining momentum in fashion in recent seasons, with fashion brands like Louis Vuitton and Burberry embracing it in their collections. This trend is now making its way into home interiors, and we're excited to see it shine in some special pieces," Andrea Erman, CB2's senior director of design and development told Vogue.

Regardless of your shopping needs (or wants), we crafted a guide to help you navigate one of 2025's most tasteful trends yet. From flirty summer dresses to that vase your room may or may not need, here are the best butter yellow pieces to shop this season and beyond.
