In Palworld, you’ll need wheat seeds in order to make a wheat plantation, which is a requirement to upgrade your base.

Below, we explain how to get wheat seeds in Palworld by pinpointing the specific Pals who drop it.

Update (July 13): We've updated this guide with content from Palworld's 1.0 update.

How to get wheat seeds in Palworld

You can buy wheat seeds from wandering merchants for 20 gold, and there’s a merchant always in the small settlement west of the Plateau of Beginnings. Activate this fast travel point and you’ll be able to jump here quickly to buy (or sell) whatever items you may need:

You can also kill some Pals to get wheat seeds as a drop. Lifmunk, Hangyu, Herbil, and Souffline all drop wheat seeds. From these, Herbil is likely the most easy to find, as it roams around in large numbers in a fairy early-game area:

To make the most of a single Pal, you can catch it to get the initial drop of wheat seeds and then butcher it using the meat cleaver to get more wheat seeds. You unlock the technology for the cleaver at level 12.
