The Fortune shovel has amazing stats and a very good passive ability, making it one of the best shovels in the game. Here is how you can get the Fortune Shovel in Dig It during the Lunar New Year event!

Where to find the Dig It Fortune Shovel

You can get the Fortune Shovel simply by digging up the Gift of Fortune legendary item on the Lunar New Year Island as part of the Lunar New Year event. Thankfully, the Lunar New Year Island can be found super close to the starting island of Nookville. Simply head to the Lunar New Year Island and start digging with your best shovel! If you have Rare Magnet Bait, make sure to throw it on as it will increase your chances of digging up the Gift of Fortune.

For players that acquired the Gift of Fortune prior to January 15, 2025, the item simply said it would open on that date. However, now that the date has passed, all players who dig up the Gift of Fortune in the past, current, or future tense will immediately receive the reward which is the Fortune Shovel.

Passive Ability: Every 5 digs the Fortune Shovel receives a 2x Luck boost that lasts for a short duration.

As you can see, the raw stats on the Fortune Shovel alone are very good, but the true strength of the Fortune Shovel lies in its passive ability. What this does is every fifth dig you do, the 25% Luck stat on the Fortune Shovel is doubled, making it an incredible 50%. This will increase the overall loot that you receive. If you’re able to quickly dig, you can even make use of the boosted luck a couple of times before the boost expires and you need to dig five more times to refresh it.

With its strong base stats and powerful passive ability, mixed with the fact that this is one of few Shovels in Dig It that you don’t even have to purchase but rather can just dig up for free, the Fortune Shovel is certainly worth acquiring. Just make sure you dig it up before January 31, 2025 which is when the Lunar New Year Event ends and it will not longer be obtainable.
